Z06 tires on a C5 rim
Has anyone ran Z06 tires which recomend a 9-10.5 rim for front and 10-11.5 rim for the rim on standard C5 rims that are 8.5 and 9.5"?
I can get these tires used at a great price with over 1/2 life left and I was just concerned about the risks of running a wider tire on 1/2" less rim.

well I am no expert but anytime you are mounting a tire on a rim that it is not suited for you run the risk of problems...like poor handling, braking etc..probably best to ask in the wheel tire forum

I have the 295 35's on my stock rear thin spokes and they fit, look, and wear perfectly. I ran them daily until I got new wheels/tires and still run them daily in the winter months. I would say the fronts would be fine also. I think you will find quite a few others that run them also.

If you look at the Tire Rack website you will see that the rim width range for the 265/40 17 is 9" - 10.5" and for the 295 rears the rim width range is 10" - 11". So the stock C5 base wheels are not in the approved width range for these tires.

There have been a number of owners who have run those size tires on the smaller coupe/vert rims, but as mentioned, they are not within the recommended sizes for those width rims. I personally would not do it.
