Default Looking for an FRC?

I saw this on craigslist and if I didn't already have a TR 99 FRC I'd be taking a hard look at this one. This is a Chevy dealer in Clarksville, Tennessee.

http://clarksville.craigslist.org/ctd/3185198805.html

I updated the link, not sure it's still there though.

That does look pretty clean, and appears that nobody has molested it.

Must have sold it really fast - when I clicked on the link, it said this vehicle is no longer available.

It may be gone but here it is again, I haven't called about it though.

Since I started this I decided to call to see if they still had the car. Talked to a young lady, a salesperson I believe, and she needed my phone number because it was going to take 10 minutes or so to find out if they still have it. Now they sell a lot of cars but their dealership isn't that large!

It does look pretty nice and a good price from a dealer too.

It looks pretty stock except for the polished thinspokes.

In one of the pictures it looks like the shifter **** is twisted, so it may be missing the demon key or a different shifter?

I always look at other FRC's. I really like mine.

Don't want to start WW3 but I just can't wrap my head around why anyone would want a FRC. I sort of understand the z06 it was only sold that way. If I ever bought a z06 (Never say never) I would get a targa conversion in a heart beat. I just need to feel the wind go over my mostly bald head.

They called back and they have a buyer, though not a done deal.

No WW3 first strike here but if your avatar is your ride is all I can say is that people who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

My mostly bald head gets all the wind I need when I ride this

Certainly will not start WWIII, everyone deserves an opinion, and everyone thinks a little differently.

I have to agree with you, having a car where the top comes off is a plus, but how much of a plus is a different matter.

When i started looking last summer, if I found the right car, it was over then, but aside from that, my priorities were #1 Z06, #2 frc, #3 conv, #4 coupe.

No offense to any types of Corvette, i like them all, would the Z06 be even better with a targa top? Probably, but i would want it to be factory.

Actually there was a FRC for sale when i was looking that was just about perfect for what i wanted, perfect color, Z06 rims etc.

It was so overpriced, i never even called the guy, did not think it was worth it, his car was not going for near that on ebay, but at the time i doubt he cared (took him a LONG time to sell, and some severe price cutting).

I ended up getting a newer Z, with less than half the miles for considerable less than his original asking price.

So to answer your question very long winded-like, i like frc's, just like Z06's a bit better.

First read the post below yours for a few tips on replying to a question. I'm not throwing rocks at anyone just asking why buy a FRC.

Then second what does my Pace Car have anything to do with the subject? Now if you had asked why I bought a Pace Car vs a plain jane 98 I would 've told you, but you didn't and that is another post. This post is about FRC vettes.

Some of us just think the FRC looks much better (I do!) and don't care about open top cruising. I've owned a targa before (Supra Turbo) and it really isn't for me. If I were buying a open top car, it would be a convertible....and I am not.

I have 2 mustangs both converts, 74 vette convert, 98 Pace Car, a Chrysler convert, the only vehicles I own that aren't is a minivan, and 3/4 ton truck. If I didn't hate the PT Cruiser convert, I would've that instead of the minivan.

When its nice out it sort of bugs me to see a convertible with its top up.

Hey but its all good I just didn't get it. I guess if we all liked the same color, and body style it would get old fast.

Let me help you understand why I don't need any tips replying to a post. I, as the OP, was just showing an opportunity to anyone who might be looking for an FRC. They are quite popular to a select group of people of which you are apparently not included. It's a good thing too, there aren't enough FRC's to go around as it is now! Now you have a Pace Car, I like Pace Cars, wouldn't be my first choice, and probably would not ever own one but I have no problem understanding why someone else would.

I doubt if your Pace Car would have been mentioned by me if you had anything positive to add the post. I also have a pretty good idea why you may have bought a Pace Car verus a "plain jane 98" so I didn't feel the need to ask for confirmation.

If no one else asks, you might consider a new post, Why I bought a Pace Car. I'm sure it would be interesting and informative.

When I ask a question again please do me a favor don't reply not that I'll see it. (ignore list) Really is sad that I can't ask a simple question without someone else getting nasty.

If shifting (MMN6) wouldn't put a strain on my bad back, I definitely would have gone for a Z06, or FRC, much better body style to me, but my Coupe, with top on works fine....

Recently I found out if I wanted to spend the money, I could have had a Z06 changed over to an A4...Oh well...

I really love my 6spd but if I could have a FRC with a 6spd auto, a high stall convertor and paddle shifters I think I could live without the clutch .
