I'll be 61 next month, still get dirty looks sometimes, but the name calling stopped long ago, I guess some people know better than others.....
The principle here is, looking is ok, even dirty looking, just don't touch, or say something stupid.
So, worrying about "dirty looks" in a Corvette? OK, if the lady looks good while she's "dirty looking" at me, I might just holla at her, what's up girl....

LOL! The same thing happened to me driving to work last week, but it was a kid driving a beat-up '93-94 LT1 Z28. As we approached each other, he gave me the thumbs-down signal. I was like "really?" I saw him again a few days later on the same stretch of road, so I made sure he saw me laugh as we passed each other, and he definitely saw my return gesture...

Well considering my wife paid more for her Camry than I paid total for the two vettes I've had, I don't pay much attention to it. But if anyone did ever give me the look, doesn't bother me. My middle finger still works.
I think some people overreact and look for people who has a problem.

I dont pay attention to where other people are looking, no eye contact at all!! Unless they blow the horn or try to run me off the road...I probably wouldn't notice. Works well for me. Greetings, Rob

Sadly, you have a point there. Add me to the list of those who don't give a flying 'you-know-what' about what others think. I'm too old and life's too short. Besides I've been done with high school for almost four decades now.

I went out with the guys last night to a local hotrod hangout. We parked, and as I get out of my car some jackass walks up to me and says, "How is it a guy driving a Corvette is handicapped?" I looked at him like the idiot he was and calmly asked if he would like to see the surgical scars on my spine, as if I had to explain why I have handicap plates, or that it makes any difference at all to anyone other than me. He responded with a no and walked away.
Some people just aren't happy unless they're making complete fools of themselves.

I just love these threads. Either I just dont pay attention to the people in other cars or I just live in an area where people dont give a rats *** about 12 year old cars. My C3 gets thumbs up or a look every now and then but here you can throw a rock and hit 4 C5s before i drops.

I never really look at people when I'm driving unless they are in a cross walk in front of me. I have always found it silly to look at the person in the car next to me, either at the stop light or driving. I've done it a few times just out of curiosity to see why people do it and yes, they are ususally looking back at you! I find the whole practice bizarre. Jesus, keep your eyes on the road!
NOT to be confused with looking at the CARS. I'll rubberneck to look at certain cars but I could care less who's behind the wheel.
Likewise, I don't really look at people on the sidewalk. I don't care to see if they are looking or not. Dirty looks might be jealous people who see you looking at them and figuring you are playing the "look at me" game. Corvettes are cool and I love mine but is a 10 year old Vette really that much of an unobtainable status symbol? It's not like it's a Bugatti, Lambo, etc.
