Default Convertibles, Nav Systems, and Exhaust

I've had a preference for Borla over Corsa (athough I like the Corsa Xtreme). Now that I have a nav system, I find that the screen is often washed out by blazing sunshine with the top down, and I have to rely on the prompt voice, turned up to 32/35, to get my instructions.

Does an exhaust like the Borla, which is alleged to be "loud all the time" (idle, acceleration, and cruise) make enough noise at cruise to interfere with the nav voice when the top is down? Will the Corsa, which is supposed to be relatively quiet at cruise, allow the prompt voice to be heard in a vert with the top down? Are the differences enough to weigh them in my decision?

Many thanks,

Joe

I have a 2004 very with a Kenwood Double din NAV/stereo system. I also have a Corsa Indy exhaust with X-pipe.

I have never really had a problem with the NAV display unless the sun was catching it at a certain angle. The X-pipe really quieted down the motor boat idle sound so I have not had any issues hearing the voice response unless I am driving 70MPH on the freeway top down. Something I rarely do.

Both Borla and Corsa each have loud, medium and mild models of cat back systems, so it really depends on your preference. I have a Borla touring (mild sound), which does not prohibit nav sounds and conversation. Also, regardless of model, most will be loud at WOT.

I have the Corsa Indy Pace Car exhaust on mine and use a Garmin Nuvi GPS system - I have no problem hearing the voice when driving the car.
