Default Dish guy slammed door into rear bumper

Ahh good old state of maryland residents once again. Im currently fighting with oe wheels bc they sent me a bent wheel.

Six months ago to pos trash man hit and scratched my bumper with a can. My word aginst theirs so the smallmscratch is still there.

And now i come off duty to my wife telling me that she called the police bc a dish installer swung his door into my bumper. Yet another small scratch. This is bull... At least this time we were able to get the police involved so these bastards will pay. My bumper needs painted after these two scum bags.

This is why in the past 5 years I have logged only 2K miles on my C5 since I am afraid of things like this happening. My daily driver jeep is missing half the paint on the doors from inconsiderite people.

Good luck with getting it fixed!

My wife had a Dodge durango 2 wheel drive with some accessories ( looked nice ) for 5 years,,,never a scratch on it... and she drove it everywhere... now she got a Camaro SS and she parks away from everyone at her work and in less than 1 year she's been smacked twice by door's...think anyone came up and tell her ??? hell no,,people dont care and I feel some people target a nice ride and do it .... hope I never catch some A-hole messing with our's or other peoples ride...(cause I cant drive my vette locked up!!)I would be the first to own up to any accident I caused..too bad others dont ....Sorry for your misfortunes my friend...

It is a 12 year old car. Drive it. I drive my C5 every single day rain or shine. If it gets scratched, I have touch up paint.

Good luck with the repairs. Sucks that other people can't be careful around your car.

People kill me sometimes.... Just because you drive a CAR makes it a beater? Really? I just rolled over 100K on my 02. Lots of road trips to the mountains. Rain, Shine, dirt and snow.....

Any guess what..... it looks brand new....probably just as good or better than some garage queens. Its a freakin Corvette....it was built to drive hard and fast.....

so what you are saying is if we DD our cars then they are considered beaters?

C'MON MAN give me a break, your car is sitting at home getting thrashed on your own property by the trash man, dish man, mail man, ice cream man, birds crapping on it, cats walking on it and pissing on your tires, kids without handlebar grips are going to get you next....LMAO!!!

I've seen plenty of daily drivers that still look very good. That being said, if someone has a low miles car that they only drive on Sunday, I have no problem with that either.

Mine isn't a daily driver but it's not a garage queen either. All you have to do really is take care and mind your surroundings. When I drive my car and park it, it is rarely out of eyesight. On the rare occasion that I drive it to walmart or a grocery store I park as far away as possible from everyone else. It's the little things that you can do to lessen the chance of having a dink hit your car.

My daily driver is my Vette...and I drive it 50 miles a day, seven days a week. That said, I park it as far from any other car as possible...always. Even that sometimes doesn't help.

Dish is very good about paying for damages caused by their techs. Dish, or their subcontractor will pay to get your car fixed and charge the costs to the tech.

I use mine as my DD and no, it doesn't look the best. It's impossible to avoid the occasional rock chip, etc. etc. but by the same token, I don't want some soccer mom on a parking lot running her cart up against the side of it either. It doesn't need to look any worse.

I always park it as far out as possible and still, I keep finding new scuff marks and crap on the car. Infuriating.

I also have a C4 that I was daily driving for awhile. Thing has 103K on the OD. It is in no way in perfect condition on the outside but I still get paranoid parking it anywhere.

I think it's also a matter of the roads in my area. Constant construction on main roads and lack of repairs on others you can just see rocks flying up from the road. Would much rather keep one corvette extra clean.

When I lived in NYC I always had to laugh at the way taxi drivers treated me when I was driving the Corvette (they often came within inches and tail gated) but when I drove the Toyota FJ40 with large wheel and tires they stayed well away. There was nothing to hit but tires and massive bumpers and they knew it.
