Wonder how long it will be before the Corvette brand is banned from Cars and Coffee. This is the second vid I’ve seen of a Corvette loosing control at Cars and Coffee.

I was there. I saw it happen. I had a feeling something was going to happen when he stopped in the middle of the road to do a burn out stopping traffic. He was bouncing the rev limiter off 6500rpm, and dumped it into 2nd gear. That's when things went wrong.

He was extremely lucky that Cars and Coffee had the for-site to put up rope to keep the crowd away from the street. Last year people were sitting on the edge of the curb to watch car's leave the event.

Things would have been BAD if he had of hit spectators on the side of the road. You can't see the crowd in the video as they were pulled back 20 feet from the street. The crowd watching people leave the event was at least 5-6 people deep and stretched for about 20+ car lengths. Easily 200-300 spectators.

And NO... that was not my Silver Z...

Notice the passenger had his hand out the window the whole time.

It never fails, whenever I leave a restaurant or bar or someplace I'm hanging, there's a bunch of people that when they hear the engine lite start yelling for you to burn out. I just rev it hard a couple of times and idle out of the lot with a wave. I don't want to be the guy in the youtube video wiping out a parked Bentley because he hit a wet or oily patch in the lot.

I had just pulled out and left "slowly"... next thing i know "Toque" is texting me that i missed this person. As i understand it, he has been a Mustang guy prior to coming over to the Vette world... His car is Bone Stock... IMO he does not respect the power, handling of the C5Z... Nor does he know how to drive it. It will definately give us a black eye at the next C&C in July.

Furthermore... there are DPS Troopers lined up all along that service road as well as hiding out on the Tollway. The guy is VERY fortunate he did not get stopped! Not to mention injure an innocent by stander.... Live and learn i hope.

I do not condone this type of driving.... (for the record)

I can see it now. F/S Low mileage QS Z06. Excellent condition.

Is it any wonder some people think Vette drivers are douche bags.

Then Lamborghinis, Ferraris, Vipers, Cobras, Mustangs and Pontiacs amongs others will also need to be banned.

Every brand has had idiot drivers wreck/spin leaving a Cars & Coffee/Coffee & Cars event.

Wow. How can people not know better? I hope a valuable/pricey lesson was learned and I'm glad nobody was injured.

On a side note; Why is that CF Editor can post this vid on here and even link it to the homepage yet we as regular members would get banned for posting such??? Hypocrisy.

Watched all four of the vids, I can only imagine what the Lambo owners repair bill was. I now know that if I’m ever lucky enough to be at one of these events, I will be the spectator behind a concrete barrier.

Just because an individual owns a Corvette doesn't mean he/she can drive like Jan Magnussen.....lol! IRS cars are very unforgiving (traction control & active handling off); especially when you don't know when to modulate throttle or counter steer. If that had been a 4th-gen Camaro, he could have walked it sideways down the entire street while sipping his Starbucks.

This is Texas. "Hey ya'll! Watch this!" is Texan for "Hey everyone, watch me do something really stupid." It's also fair warning that any injuries obtained as a result of observing or participating in said stupidity are the fault of the injured, not the person doing the injuring.

I have had people on the street yell at me to do a burnout in my last two c5's(both supercharged). I tell them as expensive as tires are for these things, they can forget it. I love to go fast, but have zero interest in burnouts. Just not my thing, nor is drag racing.
