Default oil psi

just recently my oil gauge is pegged at 80 psi, I checked the digital read out and it is indicating 129 psi.

I know low oil psi is not good, but extremely high psi doesn't sound good either.

Does someone know what I am up against?

if its still pegged without the engine running.. then its the sending unit, a common failure on our C5's... i replaced mine earlier this year. just google c5 oil pressure sensor and it will prob find the thread easier that using the search box on this site.

You posted this twice,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,follow the advise and search, you have been a member for at least three years. Try reading the forum. Gain knowledge.

This is rated as -------------USER ERROR------------------

For all that think I am being rude.......................this item is posted at least once a week, there are stickies in regard to the fix. If some of our members would read the forum, then there would be less fanfare...........Every car that I buy I check to see if there is a forum, that way I can read up on possible problems, issues and positive things about the car before something POPS up.

Knowledge is power. We still have members getting screwed by dealers, because they don't utilize the full power of the forum................

However, if you would like some Word files on the oil pressure sensor issue - including a procedure to relocate the sensor thereby making it easier to repair in the future, PM me your e-mail address.

Don't worry about the negative posts pacecar, they just give vette owners bad names.
