Has Corvette given up the fight?
I am wondering how it is in your neck of the woods. Around here it has been years since GM has actively advertised Corvettes all the while Porche, BMW, Audi and all the rest of the sports car manufactures are pounding the public with their latest and greatest. What about GM and their flagship Corvette, not a wimper. Sit on their backside and hope people discover your product doesn't cut it in todays market. I hope the writing is not on the wall for Corvette as we all lose.

Yes, yes they are. I've walked into several Chevy dealerships and not only did they have a couple of ZR1s in the showroom, they also had quit a few different models lined up under the breezeway. We have commercials and billboards signs for vettes also.
To the OP, it's probably because you're in Canada. JMO

As far as selling Corvettes adds really don't bring that much Corvette business in the door. If you compare Corvette sales volume to other two seat sports cars such as Porsche, Corvette is doing very well. BMW's cars are not in the same category so attract a different buyer who wants/needs more than what a two seat sports car will provide. When the economy turns down two seat sports car sales turn down as well. As with the last two major downturns Corvette is actually doing better than the others.

Initeresting you post this. Here is a Corvette ad that started running this past weekend on ESPN2:

Apparently you don't watch much sports car racing. There have been Corvette ads on the American Le Mans series off and on for some time now and ads on the Rolex Sports Car Series as well. Corvette is a niche automobile, so GM is targeting their ads to programs that likely buyers watch, rather than the general public. Seems pretty smart to me.

Hmmm....good question. Perhaps they are saving Ad dollars until the C7 is revealed.
A local dealer here that usually has a few new 'Vettes outside in front has switched to the Camaro as their attention-getter.
I still think they know people are waiting for the C7 so why spend much time/effort/money on pushing the C6 (which, IMO is not as appealing as a C5).
Time will tell I guess.

Speed channel, espn. They aren't going to advertise locally or on the major networks. their target audience is on speed and espn. Plus they have never really adverytised a lot, they don't have to.

All I see for BMW are ads for 325i and for Audi are sports sedans. I can't remember seeing an ad for a Carrera or 911 in quiet a while.
