Thanks everyone.
I will still be around here keeping an eye on what the Corvette is up to.
Some answers to some posts:
Yep there is a ton of mustangs on the road so I don't feel so special driving anymore.
I think the reason these come so dialed down from the factory may be because it gives the boss and gt500 a bigger sales advantage. I.E. make more money when buyers upgrade to a much more powerful version.
Don't think I will do much if any power upgrades though. Can't risk the warranty and It's plenty of power as a street car
Dealer is putting on the spoiler next week.
Oh and yes black sucks in AZ. Really don't know why I came home with that color
Standard HIDs and no gas cap are both pretty cool features all cars should have

I could go on, but there is nothing wrong with what you did, and the fun factor is identical to any other performance car, for a lot less cash. Oh, did I forget? Track pack comes with Brembos, 3:73 read end, etc....just more factory mods that you normally would have to ante up for on other cars.
But the bottom line is: IT'S STILL A MUSTANG!

I had an 04 gt just before getting the vette. It had straight pipes and sounded amazing!!! Way better than my vette with b&b exhaust. I loved it!!

Remember that opinions are like axxholes, everyone has one, but to me,. the Mustang is more of a "kid's car" and a Vette is a Vette. The "kid" will have one someday. My history is 65 Mustang age 20, '65 and '66 Mustang age 35, '89 Vette Age 43, '89 Mustang age 44, '04 Vette age 64.
Always wanted a Vette; drove my wealthy girlfiriend's split window at 17; and wanted but could afford one from '63 to '88. Conceded that they are nice cars but....

That's one fine looking Mustang you bought. Lots of haters here on the forum, but the fact is Ford is doing a great job with their cars and GM, not so much. For the price, the Mustang is a very good car.

Heck I've had my share of Mustangs, AND even today they are really moving the bar up. But let's be real....I only bought the Mustang GT's CAUSE I couldn't afford a Vette, NOR stack all my kids in a Vette.

It WAS one of the few models that kinda was sporty and yet budget friendly. There are many reasons to own one, but as a competetive car to a Vette......Naw!

BUT the gap is closing........for now. I even looked at a Snake last week.....but couldn't be moved to leave mine.

This is kind of funny to me. We just sold my friend's 1968 500 GT convertible for north of $100k. (www.sierraclassics.com) Don't get me wrong, but I don't understand it. It's a nice car and everything, runs like a bat out of hell, but to me it's just a mustang. I guess I'll never get it. The word "Hemi" doesn't get me excited either. I guess I'm just a stuck in the mud corvette guy.

I would trade my 2004 coupe for a 5.0 anyday, sweet ride and have fun with it.

I'm drooling over your 5.0
I love modded mustangs and vettes. On yours, I would add a chin spoiler, lowering springs, and a different wheel finish (either chrome or gunmetal gray). I am spending money in my mind on a car that isn't even mine lol

Sorry about your luck, having to downgrade sucks.

Honestly though, the 5.0 engine is impressive. All these new cars are too damn heavy though. Stang 3600lbs, camaro almost 4k, and the piggy challenger over 4k. I hope you enjoy the car, and they do have a great exhaust note. Word of caution, they tend to attract young girls. Check Id's or you might find yourself in prison....

Congrats on the new purchase but I'm not seeing the logic on the "major breakdown" when you're talking about modding this one. I suppose sales tax was rolled into your loan as well?

I decided on a vette because I knew if I settled on a mustang I'd still want a vette, but if i had a vette, I wouldn't care about a mustang.

Your new Mustang is sick though, only mustangs I like are 68 and earlier or 2012 and newer
