I too am thinking of going Black Chrome on my next set. Also going to go 18 front and 19 rear. I'm liking the looks better than the 17/18 C6 Z06 chrome rims that I have now.

I think black chrome/black rims are really a fad. Who knows maybe it will stick around, or maybe it will look dated in 5 years. Remember those Mustangs with white rims? Or the Viper with yellow rims? Not exactly cool today. Polished is timeless. That is the only way I would go!

Ok, thank you very much!
Where can I find 18 19 front and rear Z06 polished wheels at a good price?
And also, what kind of tires do you suggest to me for these wheels?

I have Hankook's V12 EVO tire's 275/35/18 & 285/35/19, I tried to stay as close as possible to the original outside diameter as the original factory 17-18 setup to keep speedo the same. What ever tire you pick go on line and find the outside diam. of that tire because the same size tire I have in a different brand could have a different outside diam.

Just not to open another topic, do you have real pics or infos about the rear diffusor from carbon chrome ( http://www.chrome-and-carbon.net/0289_gallery.php ) and of the ZR1 carbon fiber spoiler ( http://www.duraflexbodykits.com/1997...-p-263050.html )

Polished metal is a material that lends itself to a shiny, smooth finish that will last, nowadays with a clear coating. Years ago one could get polished alloy (it's possible to polish steel as well, but it will never last) wheels that looked great as long as you kept them up and out of northern winters. Clear coating has dramatically reduced the upkeep of those kinds of rims.
Chrome is an Electro-Chemical process where the chrome is drawn to the rim material in a electrically charged chemical bath. Yes it is a coating, but not like paint or clear coat. There is nothing typical of chrome rims being cheap. In fact, on rims that are available in black paint or chrome, the chromes are more money.

Chrome looks cheap to me. I hate any modern chrome rims. Don't like the ZR1 chrome rims. Don't like the Z06. They look cheesy and class-less to me...or you could say cheap. You can head down to the local tire tore and they will sell tons of chrome blinged, 40lb, 22" rims....YUCK!

Give me a good quality set of forged/polished rims. I used to love Fikse rims, but not since they got bought out...their customer service has gone downhill. If I were getting aftermarket rims, it would be something similar to Fikse rims.

Something like this-

Those yellow rims were the ones that the Viper came with, and I believe those are the rims Saleen was using for a while in white.

Now that you have thoroughly clarified that your reference to cheap is your opinion. I was just at the Corvette museum admiring a ZR1 with chrome rims awaiting delivery. There was nothing cheap looking about it...to ME.
Something like this-
Nice car. I wouldn't mind them myself.
