Default 2003 C5Z: 28K: Whats it worth?

I found a 2003 C5Z with 28k on the clock. Owner says its all stock expect for some new tires and battery. Car is black and appears to be mint from what I have seen.

I'm looking for a car that I can sell in about 2 years( when I finish my masters and am looking for a down payment on a house) and recoup most of my money from. The car will be driven very rarely( maybe 5k a year) and maintained very well.

For this reason, I don't really want to over pay for a car( who does i suppose?)

So whats a fair deal for this car assuming it checks out well?

I've seen a few similar to what you described selling for $23-25k.

As c6 prices start to come down over the next few years, these might be a bit harder to sell.

Why bother if you are not going to keep it and/or use it?

Great deal <$20k
Good deal - $20-$22k
Average deal - $22-$24k

Got mine in Oct for $23k. MY 03, mod red interior, with 36k, bone stock except for tires, needed new front tires & Wheel curb rash needing repaired, car otherwise in excellent condition, one owner car (important to me), shifts perfect, no trans or rear issues.

Because I have always wanted to own a corvette. No telling if I can afford one in the future, but I can now. Who knows, maybe I can afford to keep it when the time comes, but I don't want to plan on it.

Thanks for the info. Seems like its hard to get a car with less than 30k miles for under $23,000.

Why you gotta go less than 30k, though? If I thought I would only own a car for 2 years/10k miles before selling it, I'd go with a higher mileage one. It'll be cheaper upfront, and you're probably more likely to recoup the purchase price when it's time to sell.

Yea, thats true. I guess ultimately I would like to keep the car as long as possible. And a lower mileage car leaves more miles for me to put on it. I just don't know that it will be feasible for me to keep it later on.

Pretty accurate statement...if you can pick up the car for $23K, I'd say that's a fair price.

Buy one. Drive it for two years (drive it, don't park it). You will be hooked. If someone told me I had to go back to driving a normal car I would slit my wrists.

I know. I test drove two Z06's last week and couldn't believe how hooked I was... It seems I'm searching all day and night for the right deal now..

I paid 23k two and a half years ago for mine. it had about 25k miles on it. at the time it was a stupid deal. Id say it still is for a 03 c5z. Pick it up. You will love it.

I wish I could find a car with 15k that wasn't over priced by a few thousand.

A good price is a price you are happy paying. You will always find someone who paid less and someone who paid more.

I bought a 2002 Z06 in 2010 for $21k after looking for 1.5 years. The car is soooo powerful and what a car to drive. Couldn't be happier---just wish I could have bought it new in 2002 and been driving it for 8 years.

What's a few dollars over your lifetime--buy a Z and drive it---this car is not meant to be put in a garage and don't worry about the future prices.

I just bought mine on your coast for 23k. 03 Blk Z with 30k on the odo, bone stock. I consider it an average to good deal depending on how clean the car is. How much is he asking for the one your looking at?

He was asking 25k but was willing to come down to 23k.

I recently bought a 2002 Z06, black on black with 5K miles on it for 26000. The car was perfect, bone stock and the price was right. Kelly Blue Book lists the car for 26,700 for excellent condition.
