Makes me wonder. I didn't even bother to check the ones I put in my truck or my wife's Camry. Said pre-gapped and I said SAWEET. Hmmm....

NGK's are nice. I was running the TR55's in mine too when it was just a cam/head/full Bolton setup. I'm using the TR6's now that I added nitrous to the car.

I bought a set of the Iridiums a number of years ago and they were gapped perfectly. Sounds like the plugs you got were either made on a Monday or Friday.

im sure they come pre gapped. only problem is ac delcos are just in a box and dont have any protection on the electrodes(tip), many other spark plugs have a cardboard or plastic on the treads and over the electrode to protect it in shipping.

i work at a auto parts place they come in a big tote all they are all literally tossed in there from the warehouse, then coworkers "chuck" the totes around. and occasionally the plugs can always get dropped around.

always check them!

Ive never had a problem with them, always been on gap, must be just the vendor handling.
By the way, I believe you mean .030"- .043"

Why do you prefer iridium plugs over copper cores?

Bought a set of AC Delco Rapidfire plugs from Rock Auto. Pre-gapped, in the car, running fine.

Spark Plug Gap

This article has been updated with TSB #03-06-04-060B

INFORMATION ON NEW SPARK PLUGS AND GAPPING

SPARK PLUG GAP 1.01 mm (0.040 in.)

A new spark plug has been released for use in certain vehicles. The new spark plug has an Iridium tip instead of the current Platinum tip. Due to the different tip design, the gap of the spark plug has also changed.
The new spark plug, P/N 12571164 with AC Delco P/N 41-985, is gapped to 1.01mm (0.040 inches) when the spark plug is made.
Notice: The spark plug gap is set during manufacturing and should not be changed or damage to the spark plug may result. Any new spark plug found to not be properly gapped should not be used.
