Cracked Radiator Neck ?
So, story goes started to develop a small leak at the Upper Radiator Hose.
Small leak where it connects to Radiator. Of course somewhat hidden Clamp so couldn't see exactly where although determined either the clamp was loose, non adjustable stock version, or the hose was cut \ worn.
( stock 2001).
Either way new Hose / Clamp ordered and proceeded to take apart and install. Drain some coolant, remove shrouds, remove hose and clamps, etc.
Checked water neck pretty closely, best I could without pulling radiator, reassembled, ensure hoses are nice tight, without over tightening and cracking the cheap plastic necks, and viola, button it up top off with coolant, burp system and top off.
Damn, Son b* tch leaking in exact same spot !
Assume the neck is hairline cracked ? Time for new radiator, as this may be somewhat common for age and cheap design?
Nice new Hwy duty unit from Dewitt's the best remedy ?
If go this route anything else to sharpen the area up a bit can be done at same time, new shroud assembly or brackets, etc to consider?
Any advice/comments appreciated !

I definitely don't mind getting the best quality out there, plan on keeping ths girl for awhile.
So are there any good upgrades to do while the thing is torn apart?

Were you leaking just a tiny bit under the drivers side side or radiator? It looks like its coming from my top hose but I put a new clamp and still a tiny leak, only after I park and stops.
Did you end up having to get a new radiator? I have to pull it apart this weekend....

Melting Slicks
Mine was cracked on the driver side neck, have it pulled out now. Going to be putting in a new OEM one and blue silicone hoses this weekend along with a new H2O pump, main belt idler pulley and tensioner.

I'm thinking I have the hairline crack but hoping maybe it's just some over pressure from having too much coolant since I am overfilled. Going to take the excess out tomorrow and see if that makes a difference and inspect the radiator on Saturday when I get a chance to remove the shroud so that I can see. If cracked, going to replace with OEM from GMPartsHouse for 250.
I replaced my Water Pump about 2k miles ago...I am right at 101,000 miles.
