what do you think my car is worth??
So just tossing the idea around of getting a new grandsport, I have a 2002 z51 6 spd coupe with 20k miles on it Its Mag red 2 and Tan init with sport seats. The car has dual mode ac, both power seats, hud, polished orig wheels. It has every option originally with the exception of the glass top and the 12 disc cd changer.
Now my question?? I have 19" polished 505a CCw's and the Corsa pacecars with tiger shark tips. I also currently have a great Double Din(done by dennis) and a great navi/ stereo in the car. I have evry stock piece in my garage and can put it back 100% stock in a matter of 2 hours.
SOOOO Whats it worth stock? and currently?? Would i be better putting it 100% back to stock to sell?? whats the pro's opinions?????? I will add the car has never been abused and has never been hit or painted.

you will be better off selling the car stock and the wheels/exhaust separately... those should go pretty fast in the parts fs forum or craigslist

i think you could get 20-21k for it to the right buyer... just depends on how bad/fast you want to sell it

Definitely swap your OEM parts back on and sell your aftermarket items individually. You may have to do a little work, but you will make more this way. Buyers are not willing to add a price premium for mods compared to a stock car. With your low miles, I would say $21k would be a pretty reasonable asking price.

IMO, it's worth maybe $20-21K - even with the low mileage it is still a 10 year old car. And yes, take the mods off and sell them separately - you'll come out better $$$ wise that way.

Just paid $24,500 for an 02 totally stock Z06 with 24K miles. Take the Corsa pacecars off and sell them to me I have a 99 coupe they would be great on. lol

Car value
It may sound high, but I have not seen one any cheaper with that low a mileage. I see 100K + mileage cars for high teens low 20s. Don't underestimate the value of your car is all I am saying, personally I would be asking $24,500 and figure on coming down to possibly $22,000. Look on Ebay an see what they are selling for, high teens is cheap for that car.

If he ask 24.5k he will have many potential buyers just pass his car buy. I know what I want to spend for a car and when I see one out of line I keep moving. I have found that most people really cherish their cars and getting them to negotiate is like pulling teeth. List the car for what you want and lower price if need be until it sales.

Ok, maybe I've misread but op says he has a "z51" which I assume is the suspension option? Are you comparing that to a z06? I just purchased an 01 convertible with 30k and pretty much the same options for 19k. Seems this would be in the same ballpark but I'm no expert.

Definitely pull all of the mods off and sell them. You have atleast a few grand worth of aftermarket stuff that adds zero to the average buyer, and in fact can turn away buyers if they don't like the mods you chose.
Nothing wrong with asking $24k but like someone said above you will miss a lot of potential buyers who are looking to spend around $20k. For example, right now I'm looking to pick up a bike and I search online for about a grand more than I'm willing to spend. So if someone is asking a lot more than it is really worth (which a ton of people do) then they will miss my potential sale at actual market worth.
First step is sell off the rims, exhaust and stereo setup. $3k+ in your pocket for all of that.

Mods = nothing, so take off what you can sell. Definitely the rims. You'll be lucky to get $17 or 18k for it. I bought an '02 Z06 three years ago w/ similar mileage - at the time, Z's were running $21 - 22k, coupes in good condition, high teens.
If you are selling solely to upgrade to a C6, by all means start high, but I don't think it will sell for north of $20k. You never know though, you could get that person who just loves the color and makes more of an impulsive buy. Good luck. I have a buddy in a similar mindset thinking of selling is highly modded (easy $20k in it) C5Z for a C6Z.

Yea, i agree. prob stock is better. Ok we'll see. I really love this car so am in no need to sell. And I'm not 100% convinced on spending 50k on a Gs either. I'll keep you guys posted!!!!
