To sell or not to sell???
Ok I have a 2000 coupe with 122k on it black on black new tires very clean car. I only paid 10k for it. I am a dealer and have had several c5s but this car is my favorite one I am in Mo were vettes bring all the money at the auctions. I had a guy come into the lot and he offered me 12.500.00 for the car I know its crazy not to sell but I can't replace it for the ten I have in it.

It took me 2 months to find this one. Like I said they bring stupid money at the auction. The guy that wants mine is also looking at another dealer that has same car but 99, wagon wheels 108k for 12995.00 vettes are high here in my area.

I'd probably sell it. Not a bad profit for a car with those miles.

I find it hard to believe any dealer would buy a car and not have a selling price in mind. What percentage profit do you consider the minimum you must have to keep the doors open? You already know the answer for this time of year.

Profit is not the issue on this car I have plenty of other vehicles to make money on. The issue is Iam only in this car for 10k can't replace it for that, usually this time of year corvettes are cheap not this year. Infact we are paying more for all used cars and trucks right now. I would like to keep car and do some mods. I know number one rule of dealer is don't get attached to a car but it's hard when it's a vette I have had several and hate it when they get sold that's wy I am thinking of keeping this one.

I think you answered your own question.
If you sell it but end up paying 12-13 for another high mile car...what did you make?
I'm in the auto body bussiness. I bought my 99 wrecked in Sept. When it's all said & done I am not so sure how much I really will have saved if anything. I sure don't expect to ever sell it for a profit. I do that with everyday type cars like Grand Prixs and Malibus. But it is the exact car I was looking for.
I think that sometimes you need to separate bussiness from pleasure. That gets a little confusing sometimes when your hobby and bussiness are so closely related. We all like to have things that make us happy. If owning this particular Vette does that for you, I say quit counting and enjoy it. Go sell a couple other cars.
