Default Lowered on Stock Bolts

I finally bit the bullet and lowered it on the stockers. Actually, it's not even all the way dropped. I still have 9 threads in the rear bolts and probably the same up front, but I have two things that keep me from dropping it all the way:

1. Steep driveway
2. F45 suspension (I read enough posts about the pros and cons of lowering on the select ride suspension so I'm staying conservative)

The rear needed lowered the most, and it's dropped almost a whole inch from where it was. The front is down about 3/8 of an inch. It's very noticeable, the stance looks so much more balanced now. I especially like the side view.

Best part...it's a FREE MOD! If you've been thinking about it but haven't pulled the trigger, it's easy and worth it!

Before (top) and After (bottom). The "before" shot is deceiving, I took it from a higher vantage point so it actually conceals some of the height. I had some serious 4x4 action going on in the back...

Nice and balanced now.

I was thinking the exact same thing. It looks so much better lowered, and your navy blue metallic would look awesome with tinted windows!

How is it on your driveway? That's the only thing stopping me from doing the same, heck, I scrape now (the deflector), and that's when I take it slow, and at an angle, I don't dare take it straight-on....

BTW: Looks nice!

Are you getting any reaction from the F45 shocks as compared to before it was lowered?

Thanks all! Here's some answers to some of your comments...

...Still safe on the driveway. I've found the one approach angle that works best, I usually do scrape the deflector no matter what, but not hitting anything else so all is well.

...Absolutely. I'm going to get it aligned in the spring (winter coming soon in Illinois, probably only put another 200 miles on it this year). Spring plans are alignment, belt and fluid check/replace, etc.

Are you getting any reaction from the F45 shocks as compared to before it was lowered?
...I can tell a difference, the ride is definitely firmer. Softest setting on the switch is now easily firmer than the performance setting was before. Good news is, no codes being thrown and nothing acting up.

Whats the deal with the select ride suspension and lowering?

From what I had read in this forum and others it is mainly a concern of damaging the shock or the sensors, or the sensors being "tricked" because of the position of the shock being lowered past it's original or default location and therefore not performing as expected or maybe even throwing codes in the DIC. In the end, there is really no concrete proof that anything can be damaged, but for most people that have this option - including me - knowing how much it costs to replace (or even to bypass) the F45 shocks or components is sometimes deterrent enough to keep folks from messing with it.

On the other hand, I couldn't stand how it looked anymore with all that wheel gap and found tons of folks with F45 who have lowered with no issues so I went for it. Gladly!

Looks great! I did the same thing not to long ago and I love it. I actually dropped mine as far it could go on the stock bolts.

Enjoy!
