The primer thing reminds me of one of my favorite comments I have gotten in the car from a neighbor. I had purchased the car totaled and wanted to use it for parts but I fixed it and am driving it for the time being and I hadn't seen this neighbor in awhile. When he saw it he asked what my "plan" was for the car. I thought he was referring to fixing the car so I said "just drive it for now". He was actually asking about the finish that he thought was in primer and what I was going to do for paint/color options. We both laughed.
Thanks guys, it was a ton of work and took countless hours. Fun project and I did it when there was snow on the ground so I couldn't use the car anyway.
Looks great. I have a few questions:
1. Did you cut out the vinyl yourself or did you buy pre-cut sections?
2. How does the vinyl stay on? Is it sticky, or do you spray some stuff like window tint?
3. How do you get the curves, edges perfect?
Just curious..... Is there a template you used? I have been looking for teh C5 template but can't find one.
ps..... what rear mud guards are those?

1. I cut the vinyl myself. It comes on a roll that is 60" wide (5ft) and 75ft long. I wrapped each panel individually so it was a matter of taking a length measurement of the panel, then rolling off the desired amount from the roll.
2. It comes with adhesive applied on the back side so you just pull off the backing paper when you are ready and lay it on, like a big sticker. You can apply wet or dry. Me being a rookie I did not have the skills to do dry so I did most of my application with a lubricant.
3. Haha, practice, practice, practice combined with screw up, after screw up, after screw up. More detail in the tutorial later this week.
There is no template, everything done by custom fitting. Fender guards are trimmed down C6 Z06 guards.
Again, not trying to call you old but I have noticed a clear generation difference. It turns heads of people of all ages and being different is my favorite part.
EDIT: DIY Tutorial now posted, take a look and leave a comment at:

Car looks great, i would eventually like to put on a matte finish to my vette, maybe a matte gray along with fender flares. I do agree that the c6, especially a z06 can pull it off much better. My opinion is the wider quarter panels which make the car look more aggressive. What did you do for the door jams?? Also did cut around the rear fascia? I believe i see shinny black in one of those pictures.

Nice job on the mod. I too would like to see the cut off points in the door jams, etc.
Does the wrap also perform double-duty as a rock/chip protectant? Sort of like a colored 3M invisible bra?

The matte look is not for me, however I can appreciate the time and labor that went into it and I have to say it came out very good for the look you were going for and I don't think spending big $$ for a body shop to do it would have come out any better. Enjoy it bro, good job!
