Can solid targa be made into clear top?
There is a solid targa top with damaged corners for sale very near to me for dirt cheap ($35). My targa is also solid but thinking that this may be a way to pick up a top cheap and convert it to a clear top so I have both tops. Is it possible to convert a solid top to a clear top? I see clear replacement lenses on eBay for $275 - $350.

I am not sure, but I would think that the frames are the same and if so, sure you could swap in a clear top for the solid top. However, probably much easier and perhaps cheaper to just buy a used transparent top.
But for the price you can get a donor solid top for, and if you can get a clear top at a good price, why not give it a try.

check with astro-tops or one of the places that does rebuilt clear tops, I'm pretty sure they can use the body color top as a core. I asked a few years ago at Carlisle but can't be 100% sure. Please post what you find out as I have a c5 body color top with corner damage thx

If you ever get that chance again, you can most certainly use the old frame as both clear and solid tops the same.

If your frame is good - check out corvettetops.com. I believe they can apply an acrylic top for $350 (plus shipping).
