Have this thread locked and start another with a poll attached and ask the question yes or no have you ever had the issue.
yes-97-2000
yes 01-04
no - 97-2000
no-01-04
Then run the poll for two weeks. You may have to bump it up every couple days so people will see it.
Just my 2 cents.
( I haven't had the time to check my ignition switch this weekend, I was tied up with brush hog repair) But I did take it to town and it died on me and when I tried to restart there was a buzzing sound coming from the ignition switch area. So I don't know if that's my problem or it's another one to add to the list of GM BS. Finally got it started and took it home and said screw it for the weekend.

just thought of something.
You'll never know what car, or how many cars has had this issue. There are few C5 owners who bought their car new and still have it.
Many were repaired under warranty and many more were repaired with extended warranties and many more were repaired by the owner when the part was still availavble.
There will always be cars that the EBCM doesn't go out on as well. But this has been an ongoing issue with these cars for a long time.
So many threads on it it deserves it's own forum.
Example from 06
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-g...bcm-issue.html
But the problem is the part for the 97 to 2000 is no longer available and cannot be repaired, it's not that they may or may not go out. It's a crap shoot.
