Try holding the key in the start position for a moment it two, it may be the ignition switch or fit may be the theft deterrent relay. Do a search for c5 corvette no start and you will find lots of articles to help you troubleshoot a no start condition like you are having. Also do a search here on the forum for bill curlee's articles.

If you take a piece of wire and connect the purple wire to the red wire of the theft deterrent relay the starter should engage, this bypasses all the computer controls so the starter and battery can be tested. There are two stand alone relays located over the top the body computer in the passenger footwell, the one on the left is the theft deterrent. Also make sure the car is in Park or Neutral before you jump the wires.

I had same issues couple months ago on my 02 coupe and it was the ignition switch. $140 part. My wife turns the key to quick; I always let the gauges bounce back before starting.
Note: I had a system charge fault on the DIC. But all indications was battery/alternator or starter cables loose. I had lights working too just would not make a click at all.

Problem solved....had aaa come by yesterday and they tested the battery...had full charge. They towed it to my local garage (guys i trust at more than tires in carlisle) and they tested the electrical system and found the starter was bad. I guess after 105k things like that will happen once in a while.
They put a new starter in same day and i was on the streets later that day.
Life is good....again.
Thanks for all the advice and suggestions.
Hope this helps someone else when it happens to them
still three more good months of vette weather here in carlisle, pa
