Rather than a spring on the underside of the trunk lid, why not replace the rubber stoppers with better rubber stoppers that are taller?? The spring idea sounds like a great idea, but as mentioned, might not be the most attractive looking "mod"

Just ordered one. Mine works fine when the car is running with the cabin pressurized by the HVAC but doesn't open very far if it's not. Another common problem I assume.

On my Z06, I have to wedge my fingers on the left side to get the damn thing open.

That, or I press the trunk release button while still inside the car and then close the door. Then, there is a larger gap that I can easily open. Silly GM!

Is enough pressure created to "push" trunk lid/hatch up, so it isn't as flush as it would be without the spring?

I'm curious to see if it still allows the trunk/hatch to close as tightly as it normally does.

Thanks!

Just ordered one from your fleabay store. It's for my C5 coupe. When I next uncover the C6 vert I will see if it needs one as well. I don't remember it having a problem but could be wrong.

Yes, trunk operation remains the same except you can now open it without having to perform embarrassing techniques!
