My Vette is becoming my DD
My Vette is becoming my DD next week. What should i do to keep my vette looking clean every day? I was thinking full detail job every week or two and quick detailer every day. What do you guys do? i hate seeing my vette dirty.

Get one of those California Dusters (or whatever they’re called) type brushes, they do wonders for me. Now go out and enjoy our car every day!

I wash mine every week - or two if I'm really tired or it's raining/going to rain. The worst part of that is how nasty the wheels look from the brake dust. You'll get used to it after a while.
I wouldn't bother with getting a C4 as a DD. If you really want a DD, get a Toyota and drive it till it drops, then drive the C5 when you feel the need.

That sounds about right. Wash once a week and a quick detail daily. If it rains you need to wash it again. It rains every other day here so my car stays dirty 75% of the time.

Well mines not a DD and its hard to keep it clean. Just accept the fact it will get dirty. Think how satisfied you will feel when you make it clean again. Here in Seattle if I never drove it in the rain I would never drive it. Thats kinda how it goes with the Sky as its not much fun if the tops up. When its crappy out for several days I drive my truck.

I must say as much as I like the Vette I would like to make it a DD. Just not practical around here. I hit a deer in my truck. It sent it flying and did $2000 damage to the truck. It the Vette it would have hit the windshield as the bumper would have kneecaped it. The truck was still driveable untill I got around to fixing it.

I wash mine every Monday & Thursday, if not able, I use Zephyr pro-33 Spo-Dee-O-Dee. It's a spray detailer that you spray on, wipe with soft towel, then buff with another soft towel. I also use this on my CCW's and they seem to stay cleaner longer. It only takes about 15-20 minutes with this, so if short on time, this is for you. Mines a DD with over a 119,000 miles and still looks great. L8R ZFLASH

I really quick workaround in a pickle is take it to one of those do it yourself car washes and spray it with the soap water and rinse it off. Obviously not perfect but helps a lot with the wheels. Than give it a good wash every week or two. I drive mine everywhere everyday.

I've got a few marks on my front spoiler but that's it, I bought this to drive and that's what I do. Yes, you might get a few chips, but the joy of driving this everyday sure makes up for it. No road rash yet,and it's been a DD for over 6yrs now. L8R ZFLASH

I wouldn't clean it off every day. Then you will get complacent and take shortcuts and do a poor job and possibly damage it. as long as you wash it at LEAST once a week, cover it up at night, and use sun guards for the dash, you'll be fine. However, if a bird craps, you spill gas on it at the pumps, tar gets slung down the side, etc, then it would be a good idea to wash, rain or shine. Get those contaminants off there. Washing it is only part of a DD. Keep an eye on your fluids, maybe invest in a bra for it to prevent bug scars.

Use Armorall Wheel Protectant! http://www.armorall.com/products/vie...ry_index=wheel
I use this stuff, and it's the only Armorall product I like. This stuff is the real deal.
As for the body of your car, just wash it every other day or park it in your garage.

There is nothing wrong with it being your daily driver but if I were you I would do whatever I could to buy something else to drive everyday. Dark cars are a real pain to keep clean and if you are a clean freak your gonna find out the big head ache on trying to make her spiffy most of the time.
