Almost 100K miles....
Hello everyone!!
Ive been waiting for this day for a few years now. My 98TR A4 is my daily driver from the first break of snow here in Maine, until the first "plowable" snow in the winter. Since I bought it in 2005 (as a vehicle in a major front impact crash....lots of repairs, gremlins, and money as you can imagine) I've put 74,000 miles on it.
I truely drive it anywhere, and in any weather condition....Its the only way I know to REALLY enjoy my car. Yes thats right...74,000 miles in 6 summers. ( my work place is literally less than a mile away, so my wife gets alittle frustrated when I gas up twice a week )
So as I sit here in on this monday morning my C5 is resting in the driveway with 14 miles to go before I add another column in my mileage display. I'm not sure where I should drive... or If I should be alone (as I am most often while driving it) It's truely one of the most hesitant times I've ever had before getting in the drivers seat...It truely is a huge occasion in my mind... rolling past the 100K mile mark.
Any thoughts from you that have been in my shoes before????
Thanks, Don

Not in a vette but I've watched few odo's roll past the 100K mark. It use to be fun when you could say it started over at 0. Now it's like, should I sell trade, or what.
So many of us have been conditioned that 100K is the end of the line. But I will pass the 100K mark in my FRC I'm sure. I've put almost 8K on it since I bought in early feb.
damn thing is too fun to drive.

Got a long way to go before I hit 100K on mine (just turned over 14K yesterday), but someday I hope to get there.
Congrats on the pending six digit odo reading.

Congrats on getting it to 100K with the serious repairs as that alone speaks volumes about your capability. Yes, I've been there myself, several times. First was an '92 Scirocco that I put 357k on it. A Honda GoldWing that I did 351K, my '99 Corvette at 328K miles now and lastly, my '07 Corvette with 103K miles now.

100k miles is nothin to an LS motor. As long as the oil has been changed regularly, as well as other fluids, it really is maybe just at its mid-way point in its life. In some cases, only a 1/3 of the way through. Congrats man, I'm sure its been fun.

OK.... maybe Im overreacting but I just couldnt do it yesterday!! HAHAHAHA 14 miles to go and I only drove her 7... Oh well, the wife gave me a list of errands to do on my day off today. Such is life. I found the car on the side of the road on the way to grocery shopping 6 years ago...Only fitting that I roll the odo past 100K doing the same thing!
