Hard choice. Can't beat a top down ride on a nice sunny spring or fall morning. I enjoy it to much to give it up.

I asked the dealership about a Vert C7 and they said it is usually much later that the Convertible sees launch. If I can get a Vert C7 at launch I will, but if not then a coupe it will be.

Why don't you just buy a car for everyday of the week? It's only money and it sounds like you must have plenty.

I have 5 now so I'm almost there. I can't complain, as my wife and I have made some pretty good decisions over the last 3-4 years and it hasn't always been easy or pretty.

After 40 years in the business,I would NEVER buy a car built in the first year of a production run. They are always problematic!

What if buying that first model run gave you a competitive advantage and was going to be used for business purposes to make you money?

Then would you buy it at launch?

Depends and what you can afford and justify. I had for several years a 25 motorcycle collection, now I'm down to one and am perfectly fine with it.

Don't you want to at least wait to see what the C7 will look like? I mean it's just speculation right now. I've heard everything from it being smaller and having a V6 to it being a hybrid. I don't think that GM will disappoint Vette enthusiasts but they did do just that in the 70's. With the economy the way it is and Vette sales plummeting, you can bet your a$$ that they will be looking for a new type of buyer for the C7. It will need to be totally different and unique. It may be something that Vette traditionalists may not like.

Since you ask, I'm not sure what the C7 will really look like. In fact, it has taken me two years to start liking the C6 look. The C5 is really still very beautiful with soft curves and nice lines, the C6 has sharp lines, smaller vehicle overall but nicer materials in the interior. I guess I need to see the C7 in person before I can give you an answer. Either way, live the dream brother, two vettes are better than one. Enjoy the ride, I always do...

The purchase is largely business driven. I will end up buying it even if I am not a fan...which I doubt will happen.

You still owe $16k on a 140k mile car and are worried about buying a new C7???

Nope I owe $16k on a car I bought last year that now has 100k miles on a 5 year loan. 4 left. I put 20-25k miles a year.

I have decided to Sell the Rainier and my wife's beetle. The convertible and hopefully the new Elantra should be paid off in 2 years. And we will have no car payments going into the C7. The business will hopefully make the payments at that point leaving us car payment free.

The convertible will remain on DD duty indefinitely. I will rotate using the Elantra when my wife isn't working. She is an RN so she only works three days a week and hoping to go weekends only two days a week. If that happened the vert would only be needed for DD duty once a week.

This plan frees up significant funds on a monthly basis to purchase more rental properties while the housing market is still low.

Thank you to everyone who provided useful feedback.
