Default Why do i bother?

why is it that everytime i try to do the most minor things to my car, there is always a problem? AGAIN, had to take out air cleaner to move air bridge to put on an air coupler and can't get it all back together. Filter won't fit in right, the straps fell off and i can't them refastened underneath. Pulled out the wire to the fog light and it is impossible to get in back in unless one has woman's hands. i am an inch away to taking a F#*#ing sledgehammer to the car. it would be worth the enjoyment destroying it!

take your time and pay attention to how things go together and come apart..and i give you props for doing it your self..and not paying somone else to do it...with all things..the 1st time is usually the hardest..and then after that its a cake walk...just all part of live and learn

Take digital pictures as you go. Then you'll have a record of how things go back together.

It happens, get a friend to assist and some music you like listening to or the NFL Network on SIRIUS radio works for me -

I always expect the unexpected even on the small crap! That's what usually takes the longest and ends up having the most trouble

Thanks,Matt

Don't be a p%$y about it and quit whining. Unless you are me, you don't know Jack! I can just start to change a burnt out bulb and end up with the Vette on jackstands with all the tires off, hood pulled and set aside, doors removed, entire interior laying on my shop floor, 20 trips to town for the right bulb.......then I can start to reassemble.

Suck it up and be thankful you ain't me!

hang in there..

I found it easy to remove the "stoppers" for the front of the hood to get to the fog bulbs. Just make sure the "adjust" nut stays put. I have Frankenstein hands, and it was a breeze!

I think I probably have the least mechanical ability of any guy I know, and I fill the old cuss jar every time I do something on my car! But, by sticking with it, asking questions here and knowing when it's time to walk away and come back tomorrow, I've managed to do every single mod myself, and stuff I never thought I could handle. Friends are amazed that I did it all by myself. Take a step back, laugh at yourself, chill and go back at it. You'll git er done!

Thankyou for the laugh and here's wishing you a project in the near future that goes smoothly. Greetings, Rob

(PS. there is alot of information on you tube on routine projects for
your Corvette that have helped me in the past. View them first and avoid some pitfalls.)

You are not alone. Fortunately I have a great friend who is mechanically inclined and he helps me when I get stumped.

There is much help here on the forum although you must be prepared for the most famous words on the forum "search is your friend".

I guess that makes some feel superior instead of offering real help.

The best advice was given in an earlier response. Take a break. Do something else for awhile then come back to it when you are rested.

I will confess to laying awake in bed most of the night sometimes replaying each step of the repair or mod I am working on. You will get through it and a positive attitude helps too.

Yes the sledgehammer is tempting but you know you can do it. You eventually win finally don't you? That makes the victory so much sweeter.

Sometimes it just happens that way. Take a break from the car, take a deep breath, maybe a beer or two, then go back at it. Things will get better.

If they actually wanted to help, they may say, "Here are results of a search, my friend," and post links to threads from searches they have performed. Not everyone is an expert at effective searches, and most of us are here to help, are we not?

If thats the worst you ever encounter, consider yourself lucky. I will leave it at that. We ALL have been there and it costs a lot at times to fix the little things. GL

You two be sure to call me next time you work on the Corvette! I'll make sure things don't go smoothly, you bring the beer!
