I'll just be driving on the highway and everyone and their brother feels like they have to pass you just so they can say they beat a vette

I get "beat" all the time by KIA's, Honda's, Trucks, SUV's and even a hearse or two. You should see all those new Camaros, Mustangs and Chillingers with the race inspired childs seat in the back and old ladies gripping the wheels with one hand and a cell attached to their ears.
They "beat' me too.
But seriously...most are just trying to catch up and look, not race.

A church van pulling a trailor passed me up and threw a rock the size of a golf ball and hit my windsheild. I was glad it didnt knock me in the head. But god was on their side as it did no damage...thank god

You are the guy with the problem... you have to go 130 mph to Beat a Honda, and then come here bragging about it ! My wife and kids are out on those same streets where people like you have not learned how to grow up... the only thing I am tired of is your immaturity.

Was the OP saying that he has to engage in races with Honda's and pick up trucks all the time so they don't think thay can beat a Vette or is he saying that he is sick of people speeding up to pass him as he is cruising along just so they can say that they beat a Vette?
I have not had too many people challenge me on the highway or in the city. If they have a nice car, usually I'll just give them a thumbs up and they drive off. Otherwise, I just ignore them as I bought the car to enjoy driving and not to race.

I was on a little 900 mile road trip when I noticed something odd going on. I'd be just cruising along, doing maybe 5 over the limit depending what was going on with the radar detector. When I noticed cars would come up on me pretty fast. So, whenever one would start to get close, I'd pull over into the slow lane. They would come up to my rear quarter panel and just hang there. I thought to myself what the heck is going on with these characters.
Well, after seeing car after car do that . . . was wondering if there was something wrong with my car. Then a new high dollar black porsche did the same thing. He came up fast and I was expecting to see him just fly by. But, he hung back at the rear quarter panel too. After several minutes, he came up along side of the vette and I looked over at him to see what was going on.
He had a big smile on his face and gave me the . Not being that bright at times, that's when I realized they where just checking the vette out. The C5 still draws attention wherever it goes.
I have to admit, I find myself doing the same thing when I come up to a Vette. Guess, it's that magic power vettes seem to have on people.
