Default ***Coming to an end with Mods, Anyone else???***

I Have an 01 Vert that was paid for the day I bought it, Sept. 07. So with no payments I did a few mods and today, 4 yrs. later I have spent 20k+ on mods, thats the cost of another vette, so I have decided to do just a couple of more things and "I am done" with mods. I know you are all saying "BS", but I'm going to stick to it and enjoy the car for what it is and have fun with it (600hp).

I am going to spend more time with the family and a little less time behind the wheel. A friend of mine has 70k into his and he is burned out and has not driven his car this year. He is hoping to take a year off from it, like a temporary separation, to see if he falls back in love with it next year. I am worried that I may be getting to this point also. I am not thinking of selling as I would loose to much money.

So I am going to end the mods and save money, but I still have a Z06 in my mind for the future. I think if I take some time off and buy a Z06 next year or so, I will make sure that I find one that has a good start with a bunch of mods already.

Any else out there getting to this point or already at this point? Here are a few pics?

Just remember that 2 stock Vettes aren't as good as one bad *** Vette. Nice car!

This is very true, thats why I don't want to sell by no means, just need a break from all the money flying. It's starting to get stressful with all the mods and planning, just want to remember the joy of just driving it!

When people start to stress out over their hobby, it is time to back off, or decrease intensity. I hit a similar problem with competitive cycling. Got too serious trying to meet milestones and win races, and then it becomes stressful and you start to lose interest.

But most people who "mod" cars aren't doing it to win car shows or go to a track and win races to win cash. They just do it because it makes them happy. In that case, there is no reason to continue doing what you were doing if happiness is no longer obtained from modding cars.

I think I'm hearing ya...I too have spent so much money on the hobby. I love it...I truly do. But now I find with everyday commitments I can't find time to enjoy it. :-(

I have a company vehicle too, so driving it for work is not an option.

With the kids getting older, it seems like bigger and different toys come into the picture. More four wheelers, snowmobiles, boat, larger camper...and with those are more days spent and less with the Vette.

I guess it's nice to have this 'problem' and I am truly thankful and blessed.

I think I just want to start over with a Z06 maybe next year, but not a stock one, one with a bunch of mods already! A year off may help, and I will miss my car that much more, and my wife will be more happy!

Hope you can stick with your end of the mods goal. Every time I say that, seems like someone comes up with something else that sparks the mod fever again.

BTW, great looking car you have.

I go through cycles where I get really intense with mods during late winter/early spring as I start getting it out and driving it more. By early summer I'm usually burned out and stop modding and just enjoy driving for the rest of the season. It's fun because it's kinda like having a new car each year to enjoy.

I'm on a break from modding until probably March or April when I get my Q1 bonus and figure out taxes for next year. Then I'm either taking it down to A&A for some POWER or calling Apsis up for a custom alcantera/carbon interior.

My bigger problem is that I mod a car to a certain point, then a new car comes out and if I'm not careful I end up trading a modded car for a stock car and having to start all over.

Sweet ride! There are some very cool mods on that car, even if they did cost alot. Worth it I dont think I could stay out of that car for a year.

I hear you brother ! I got one more round of cosmetic mods and that's it. The best option I already have. . . It's paid for.

Default more mods-different vette

I have an 02 and I did all the mods too. After numberous car shows and awards I slowly backed off because it was taking more time away from family and eating up my budget and the passion was fading, but sitting under the carport was my 77. Neglected, alone, driven 3 times all year, battery not charged, tires looking low, and car cover on sideways. I made my mind up, and left the black tiger shark 02 alone. This year was dedicated to my 77 daytona widebody and after a rebuilt tranny and new crate motor the mod bug got me again. New seats from a fiero, daytona enblems, hood removed and painted for the first time ever underneathe, wheels polished, led lights, chrome mater cylinder, chrome brake booster, chrome alt, and the list goes on, but guess what I am happy, broke , working overtime for the first time in 20 years and spending more time with my kids. You see when you order a part it takes a few days to arrive so I spend that time with kids that way when new parts arrive I have earned my free time,, anyhow cant wait to show this daytona vette off in a few .....months,,,,,,or years lol.

Are you willing to bet on that, Blitzkrieg? I'll even give you 5:1 odds!

Something else will always come along to re-ignite the mod fever.

Your interior is simply gorgeous. Really, like the change up from what you normally see with yellow exteriors.
