The tattoo thing is not for me, but to answer the OP's question : I would think through what your daily attire is, what you do for a living and what you do socially and decide how many people every day do you want to see it.
Outside of the bicep, inside of the forearm, outside of the ankle or back of the neck would give you some options on dressing that would either let it show or cover it up depending on your need.
Down side : As others have stated you might not have a C5 forever. Tats do not usually look better with age.
Up side : It is not likely that the C5 emblem will change It is not likely that the C5 will end up symbolizing some awful thing you don't want to be associated with....so it's relatively safe from that perspective.
Good Luck with your choice!

I have one. It is like my avatar so not purely Corvette, but a mix of two favorites. It's on my arm.

some of you guys are ridiculous, so hateful and judging, I am thinking of getting one on my forearm so I can hang it out my window, I'd like all you "advisors' to chime in with your ages because I have a feeling alot of this has to do with a generational gap, "good luck getting a job"? really? 21st century, I have tattoos and am a hospital administrator, life is about living it, stop worrying what other people think, they're all sheeple anyway, I say we all get the palm of our left hands done so the wave has more meaning!, as far as taking time to have illustrations of vomiting etc, to prove a point, you guys need to get in your vettes and drive more, you sound like a bunch of uppity ******, there's a younger generation here like it or not, maybe the C5 board needs to seperate the old fuddy duddy keep it stock crowd from the modding, rodding younger crowd, of course age is only a state of mind but some of you sound ready for the cadillac forums, one moment everyone jumps on the guy for goofing on the guy bragging about his plain jane ride, then next it's scolding for self expression, ever notice corvette would look perfect on knuckles? pike letters hmmmm. as far as saying get other products you enjoy tattooed in a facetious attack, obviously these cars and the lifestyle it represents mean more to some of us than others, mod on, tat on, live to vette, vette to live will be my next tat, before you call someone stupid blitzkrieg, maybe you should run your post through spell check, that's it, gloves are off! I'm making it a point to get on this forum more often and flame the flamers!

Ok Petedog, let me clear a few things up. This is the 21st century and there are a lot of people getting tatoos these days, just remember that whatever a person decides to put on there body is there choice, but people will always have a comment or an opinion about it. That person must realize this and there is no getting around it. Example is the guy with the big HONDA tatoo on his fore arm, he may love Honda, but there are people that hate Honda, so that guy should be prepared to hear some negative comments. Everyone hear on this forum has an opinion and most like to share opinions. I thought this thread was a joke at first, but I guess people really do have corvette tatoos, I'm sorry if you get offended easily, but my job is important to me and turning my body into a billboard is not my thing. I hope your next tatoo turns out well, if I ever were to meet you, I will laugh at it, and so will others, but is long as you are happy, thats all that matters! At least it won't say Honda!

My opinion, dont do it. My buddy got a firebird tatoo years ago and he still gets laughed at. The vette is a cool car but there are cooler looking tatoos than vette tatoos. I feel the same way about vette jackets too. Just my opinion.

OK.... I'm 65, own a Caddy CTS, mod my car, drive my car, that said I don't have any tattoos, both my kids do but it never interested me to have any art work done. If you choose to do it fine but to attack members, and call members "old fuddy duddy" or "bunch of uppity ******" and threaten " that's it, gloves are off! I'm making it a point to get on this forum more often and flame the flamers!" shows a lack of maturity, and respect for others. That's not in the spirit of the Corvette community and to me very offensive. That's all for now I got to check in on the Caddy forum....

on a semi serious note...I like tattoos and have a few... get one if you want it....you can always get it covered up with something different later on if you want...a jake tattoo sure beats a tattoo of an ex girlfriends name
