P1416 Check Engine Code
I have a 2003 Corvette Z06 with 33,500 miles. I have had the car for 4 weeks. While driving on the highway last Friday my check engine light came on. The code was P1416.
I checked the fuse, hoses and electrical connections to the air pump. All appeared connected and in good condition. I cleared the code and went on. 2 days later it returned. Yesterday I replaced the air pump and cleared the code.
This morning while driving on the highway to work it came back.
Any ideas on what my next steps are?
Thanks

Melting Slicks
P1416 is caused by a stuck AIR system check valve, there are 2 (drivers side and passenger side). You can leave it be without any worries, spray WD-40 in the drivers side tube, or change out the valves.
Also, you can remove the AIR tubes and tune this out via HP-tuners.

I used oxygen sensor safe carburetor cleaner to spray in the hose going to them both from the driver side. No problems since. I believe I had the same code, which is the hardest one to change. By the way, that was 2 years ago!

Seafoam now makes a spray that works great. Just break the connection by the altenator, spray a bunch in, it has a foaming action, let it sit for a few minutes and fire it up. Be sure to back it out of the garage because it's going to smoke like crazy for awhile.
