Any C5 owners wondering what car will get them to move on?
Just wondering how many of you feel like me. After owning my car for over 5 years I'm still not sick of my C5. But I won't lie I randomly get thoughts of getting something else but then nothing pops into my head that can get me too part with my C5. Of course I'm talking about some where around the 40k price range. The only one is a C6 but the only ones I like are the GS and Z06 but I cant justify in my mind the price difference for something that's not totally different from a C5. I'm starting to think and hope it might be a C7.

My C5 is almost paid for so... it won't be going any place.
However, if i wanted another car payment in the future i wouldn't say no to a C6Z if they become within "budget"

The point is, there's not much out there that can offer the same styling and performance that the C5 has. Especially for the $

Im working with a bit less money (30k) but know what you mean. I test drove a 99 Viper (Interior was terrible, visibility poor, and still not as fast as my modded C5. Then I was certain I wanted a Lotus Elise. I drove three hours to look at a 2005 chrome orange Elise. It was laughable, tiny cockpit, felt awfully slow, and you couldn't even hear the thing running. Last but not least i test drove a highly modded mustang GT (05). Interior was nice (except seats) but other than that, there just wasn't the same sex appeal as the C5. Still felt like i was driving a tank.

Trust me I'd be happy staying in the 30k range lol I also I looked at vipers and agree the interiors are plain with less technology then a Corvette.
Don't get me wrong its definitively a good feeling to have, means Chevy did a great job with the C5.

If I decide that it is time to movr on from my C5, it will be a C6. I cannot see leaving the Corvette world. Now if we are talking unlimited funds, that might be different. But as it stands now it will be a C6. Z06 most likely, but a GS is not out of the question.

I know this is blasphemy, , but the new Mustangs have really intrigued me.

I let my first C5 go and it haunted me for years until I got another. My Z06 isnt going anywhere for quite some time. Perhaps when the C7 comes out......

Cars are constantly calling for me...currently a 2008 Lambo Gallardo that a friend of mine is getting ready to part with.
Every time it happens I just take a good hard look at my car and say to myself "for $x,xxx I can do xxxxxxx to the car to make it better than what I'm looking at for a fraction of the cost." I love the look and performance of this thing so much that it's really hard to get me away from it.
It also helps with the wife when I'm getting into expensive mods:
Me: "Honey, I'm thinkin I'll buy that Gallardo, it's just so much nicer inside than the vette."
Wife: "How much to reupholster your interior to make it that nice"
Me: "Eh, 8 to 10 grand"
Wife: "How much is the new car?"
Me: "65 grand"
Wife: "Then why the hell would you buy a new car when you can get what you want for so much cheaper"
The ones I really get in trouble with are cars that serve a completely different purpose. We have the sports car (C5), sedan (Cadi CTS), and econobox (Mini Cooper S) and now I'm wanting a vehicle that will get us to the snow and haul stuff from the hardware store so we'll probably end up with a Jeep or a Land Rover by the end of the year.

If its another vette it had better very very exotic looking and much better connected to the road feelin than any vette to date. That my problem with vettes, yes they look great, are kind of fun to drive but lack all out enjoyment compared to a few other cars. Also, The C6 look just doest cut it for me. What I did do is finally test drive the ZR1 about 6 weeks ago and the problem is although the car has gobs of power/tq, has very impressive braking and handling, it still looks too much like a C6. And it also IS not nearly as fun or connected to the road as the R8. Unfortunately the R8 (THE v10 Lambo engine version) is also $60K-$70K more. And the word is the 2112 R8 is going TO BE near $200k! Fuggin AUDI!
I really dont know what my next sports car will be but it will be a supercar of some sort. uNTIL Then, I am keeping my C5. I added C6 sways 2 years ago for better handling and the Lingenfelter stage II Twin turbo that I did 8 years ago has ony had one small issue (which was my own fault) so i honestly cant even fathom gettign rid of the C5 unless the C7 is too exotic looking, has similar power and handles too well to pass up. And I doubt we will see something like that.
Below is a Rossion Q1 (check it out in white or the 2 reds) , the type of car that I would buy for all out super sports car fun due to its looks and track performance. At a cost of about $105K that just happens to use the same garrett turbos that Lingenfleter uses, it rockets you from 0-60 in 3.0 secs. They claim that no other manufacturered car can beat its laptime at sebring. But its not mass produced and I havent been able to obtain enough info on it from owners
They are only 15 mins from me. I am still thinkng about test driving one just for the hell of it. No way would it be a DD but then again, IMO, no true supercar should ever be a DD. Even my Lingenfelter C5 is not a DD. It never has been

The new 5.0 mustang when they get cheaper. Or another corvette, c5z or c6.
Everyone once in a while I want a Evo or Sti but I am not selling my c5 for one.

2009 Audi RS4 (four door R8), Pontiac G8 GXP and or a CTS-V Wagon with six speed. All are about $10 grand difference in price, but I need to replace my daily driver next year and these three are tempting and would be really affordable with a Z06 trade in. Plus my wife and daughter could come along for the joy rides.
But then again I don't think I could part with the Z.

I don't plan to ever sell my C5 vert. It's just too damn good looking of a car. I still get "Is it new?" inquiries and comments from non-Vette owners and the car is 7 years old!
I do plan to add a more powerful Z06 to the stable in the next few years. The question is whether it will be a C6 or C7 Z06.

Move on.......no.
Add to........yes.
I'd like to add a Callaway SC606 or a Ferrari 360 to my garage one day.

Well since my Z is paid for, and the love is still strong, and I still get stares from all quarters, I cant see making a move. But if I HAD to make a move, C6ZO6, end of story.
