Default Battery Problem

Is there any way to tell if a dead battery was defective or if I have an electrical problem.
In March I installed a brand new battery. Last week I drove the car on Tuesday. Started right up no issues. Friday AM I went to get in it and it was dead as a doornail. Could not even open the rear hatch, no lights or sounds at all. Had to jump it just to get the hatch open. I had recently bought a CTech charger from a forum vendor so I connected the charger Friday AM and left it on until Sunday evening.
The charger indicated it was charging but when I disconnected it the battery was still absolutely dead.
Any suggestions for things I can check myself?

I had similar issues with my car as well....I did some research and decided to put in an Interstate Megatron Plus 75 series battery and have not had a problem yet. Battery was installed December 2010
Hope this helps!

Because the battery was new, I would take it back and get it replaced under warranty. Once the new one is installed, you can see if you have a draw somplace. hopefully the place you bought the battery from can test it under load and tell you if it was bad or not.

Have the battery tested to see if it's holding a charge and can stand the load of starting the car.
