My First Corvette - Looking forward to being a member
1999 Coupe
28,000 miles (2 owner car)
Dual Power Seats
Both Tops
HUD
Multi Disc CD Changer in the back
Black Interior
Auto
Traction Control
Body Side Moldings
Dual Zone Air
Sective Ride Control (I think thats what it's called)
and many more I need to check out once I get it home.
Paid $18,000
Put down a deposit and I will pick it up on Friday, can't wait.
Needs new tires, any suggestions. I don't need crazy racing stuff, this will be a daily driver in CA, so sun and rain and mountains. I appreciate any suggestions.
Thanks,

Welcome! Looks like a nice car - and it has the magnesium wheels, which were a $3000 option in 1999.
As far as tires go - lots of choices and prices out there, not to mention whether you want an extended mobility (run flat) or not. A great choice for a daily driver is the Michelin Pilot A/S ZP. It's not overly expensive and many members here run it with good results.
Good luck and remember that the only stupid question is the one not asked.

Very nice car you'll be getting. I'd suggest looking at the Hankook Ventus V12 tires for the car. Good price and a good tire.

great looking car -I like the wheels
I too have the Firestones - have had them for 30k miles and they
have done very well - about 75% worn now. Mine are C5Z sizes
which will work fine on your rims - I have Z size wheels ( 1 inch
wider) but they spread the firestones out pretty far - might even
look better on the reg. C5 wheels ( 265-40 front and 295-35 rear)
Pretty low priced as well.

Nice color! This is a 98.
It had 20,000 when I bought it 3 years ago, now it has 35K.
Only problem was the Fuel shut off relay (CLB)
I just put a set of Billy Boat Bullets on and sold my Rt 66.
Sounds like a sports car should.
Good Luck with it and enjoy it.

What brand of wheels are those?

Very nice looking '99. Looks like the previous owners took very good care of it. Welcome to the Forum.

I would avoid pressure washing your engine bay at all costs. A simple wet rag should do the trick most of the time. If there is a lot of grease and grime build up, you could try a degreaser with a LIGHT MIST from a garden hose while trying to avoid all electrical components as much as possible.

These cars have enough issues with electrical grounds, etc. without adding excessive water to the equation.
