Default B1001 Code

I've got it as a current code and the airbag light is on so I'm guessing that the airbag deployment is disabled. I clear the code and it comes right back. DTC only gives me the code so is there a way to determine if the SDM is defective or one of the sensors? Tech II?

Thanks in advance

The code means the restraints ID in the SDM does not match what is stored in the BCM.

I got that but w/o the right equipment I can't tell where the fault is. Dealer says that for $80 they will diagnose the problem and tell me what needs fixing... SDM is almost $500

Let them do the diagnostic as its worth that. Then if it is the SDM, you can send it out for repair for a lot less.
