Amazing artwork. I too have buddies on the wall. I will never forget them either.

Thank you to all that have served our country and have sacrificed it all.

Today is the 43rd anniversary of your death. Friends and families will be getting together to celebrate a day that marks the unofficial start of summer. Unfortunately, many will give little or no thought to you or the thousands upon thousands of brave men and women who have sacrificed their lives for our freedom. I will think about you and all the others as I do every day. Your beautiful smile is forever etched in my minds eye. My Marine Corps flag is flying proudly in your honor as it does every Memorial Day.

Today I am reminded of how fortunate I am to be able to smell the delicate fragrance of blooming lilacs, the aroma of countless grills riding the breeze in our neighborhood, and the scent of freshly mowed grass. Insignificant? Perhaps, but simple pleasures that you gave up many years ago in a land so far away. I want you to know that you are greatly missed and will never be forgotten. I have kept you alive in my heart and you are my hero. Semper Fi
Beautiful! Thanks for posting that. Those few words made me stop and think about your friends ultimate sacrifice. Freedom seems so insignificant until it is taken away. A special thanks goes out to you and all of the other veterans for everything that you all have done for your fellow Americans.

I visited the WALL shortly after it opened in 82/83. It was overwhelming, even as I think about it today - 11/11/11

My father doesn't speak of his time much in Vietnam, but the few pieces he has shared with me have really resonated. I've been glued to the History series called Vietnam in HD. It has helped to put some of my father's stories in context and also remind me of the courage and character so many of our loved ones exhibited. Thank you to all of our service men and women, both past and present. Thank you to the families who have paid the ultimate sacrifice. We are eternally in your debt and are proud of you all.

PS. I'm generally not a fan of airbrushed hoodliners but that, my friend, is awesome.
