Childhood dream. My dad had old Chevy Impalas and my favorite, his 68 Dodge Charger. First time I saw a vette, I knew one day I'd have one. Took 34 years to realize that dream but I did.

Wanted one since I was 16 in 1962.
Got a 91 when I turned 60 in 2006 , got a 03 anniv red last month and will turn 65 later this yr. Love the C5, what an upgrade from the c4 especially the 250hp 91.

I always wanted one, and I have "ALWAYS" wanted a Supercharged car.
I was going to do my '66 Chevelle but with today's technology and Superchargers and the potential of the LS motors - the decision was made
And now I rest on 701 RWHP and great MPG too!
Thanks,Matt

The first Corvette I fell in love with was a '62 that belonged to a guy I went to school with. His doctor daddy spoiled him rotten. My less affluent daddy couldn't spoil me, and wouldn't have if he could have.
I didn't care for subsequent Corvettes at all. I rode in a number of acquaintances C2's, C3's, and C4's over the years, and I didn't really like ANY of them.
I bought a 1997 Z28 and it didn't take long before I seriously wished I had waited. Right after my Z28 was delivered the C5 debuted, and I fell in love with Corvettes once again. The C6 is a close second, but I think the C5 is one of the most breathtakingly beautiful automobiles that has ever been produced.
Besides being gorgeous, it is absolutely exhilarating to drive!
When this 2004 came available in January of this year, with 1352 actual miles, I jumped on it.

Loved the look of the C5 so when I got the chance I bought one. Really like the handling but I really thought the car would feel stronger stock. Really happy with the car overall.

I fell in love with Corvettes in high school and all of the advancements they were doing with the C4. I remember seeing the first C5 at a car show and I set a dream to own one one day.
In 2004 we flew as a family down to Az for spring break and I realized I had never driven a C5. My wife told me when the plane landed that the two of us would leave the kids (3 and 5 at the time) and we would test drive one together. I remembered what she said on the last day of the trip and reminded her. She said "it would be a good bonding experience with your dad if the two of you test drove the car." Needless to say I drove one back that night. She wasn't too happy with me for the first couple of weeks.
After driving it back to Minnesota on Good Friday, my wife had the chance to drive it with the top off. She was hooked after that. My 11 year old daughter can give you the stats on any vette back to '53.

I love muscle cars in general. I love Mustangs, Chargers and Challengers, Camaros and Corvettes. I purchased my corvette because:
1. My friend has one.
2. It is the only muscle car where the top comes off completely off.
3. Your in a elite group of great people. Everyone that owns a Vette are family.
4. It does not have a back seat, so it gives me time to be alone with my wife.(Very important)
5. What is also nice that you have a variety of options to individualize your vette to make it original and your own.
6. My wife wants to add that she looks good in it.

I've been fascinated by Corvettes since I was a kid and when I was 31 I was finally able to afford one. Now on my 9th one, it's just something that once in your blood, it's kind of an addiction.

Lots of awesome reasons posted earlier:
Because it was my Dad's (can't believe someone else said that. I sure miss Dad)
American Muscle (Nuff Said)
Power & Speed Addicted ( 1 expensive *** hobby. 3 hot rods. 3 hot seadoos)
Would never/ never/ never own Rice (dont' tell me "but it's made here")
Smokey and the Bandit (awesome, been 140 mph in cousin's TA, never got over it)
Vette owners Like to Wave at Each Other (Never seen the camry owners wave)
I Love My Country (Not many things more American than a Vette)
It Was Dad's (yes, double list for good reason)
I would feel left out from my local community if I didn't contribute to the Police Dept $$ (sarcasm)

I am 27 years old so i grew up with the 90's c4 which i liked alot and the c5 which i fell in love with the first time i saw it in 1997. People think its crazy when i tell them this story of how me and my family were in san antonio texas on vacation and i saw this nassau blue brand new c5 corvette, it was love at first sight. I told myself i have to have that car someday. I have always been a GM muscle car fan and seeing as the vette is GMs flag ship sports car its only natural i am gonna love it

...so there I was in the summer of 2002 in Iraq (OK, I was living in Kuwait and flying F-15Es in Iraq). I called home one day and spoke to my stepfather about the usual stuff (it's 115 here, my roomie snores and the food is not too bad, etc.). He asked me "so if you could have any car you wanted, what would it be?" I told him without thinking "a BRIGHT red convertible Vette with a black top". I did not know that my late grandfather's estate had cleared probate and he left me (as it turns out, enough to buy a new 2003 Vette). So I get home a few months later and my 69 year old mother drives from Oregon to Idaho to deliver my dream car. I never asked who forged my name on the check from the estate...

Hi theradioflyer -
My wife and I were looking at clown-shoes back in 2001, and then our family had a bad experience with Chrysler products at about the same time I noticed the then new Z06.
I wound up buying a new 02 Z, which I still own today, and have never regretted that decision.
I still get a kick out of driving the car, and after 9+ years, I still like to just go to the garage and look at the car. It's that good.
best regards -
