Woman Vette owners
So, I can correctly argue, to my ever wonderful wife, that Vettes are not just a guy thing, how many members here are bonafide "this is my vette" chicks, or ladies if you prefer?

Well... my wife recently joined the forum... Vette Widow. She half jokingly took this handle because of my time spent with the vette. She too is an owner in the sense all the money on mods lately is coming out of her pocket too!

When we were dating, my now wife, loved my '86. When we got married I wanted to buy her a "car" for a wedding present. She said it had to be a "Vette" but not just any Vette. First of all it had to be a vert and with a 6-speed. Up 'til 2 years ago she drove it daily to work. Now to the store and to have lunch with "the girls". Yes Virginia there are "girl" drivers. She lets me drive it once in a while too! And I still have my '86.

There are many in my town, I know of one that drives her red 99 coupe everyday, year round to work, see her every morning. There are three others that I see weekly but really I believe that is what the passenger seat is for. Don't see many vettes with two guys in it.

There is a woman I know that still has her original 60 that she bought new. Not many women bought new corvettes back in 1960 and to still own it is very rare. Maybe the oldest vette owned by the original lady owner.

ME!!! ME!!! ME!!! I bought my first vette when I was 21 in 1982, an 82CE. Sold it in 84 to make room for the car seat and a new house. Got my current 97 on Aug. 21, 2009.

My wife participates in most of my Corvette life - we own two C5's though she has never driven either one of them, she is my business partner and loves the cars nearly as much as I do. She wears Corvette shirts and jackets. When asked - she says that she owns two.
Corvettes are absolutely not just a guy thing. She goes to all the shows, on all the cruises and wouldn't have it any other way. She happens to be content with being a passenger as she drives about 35K miles a year for her job.

While I would say the majority of Vette owners are men, more and more women are joining the ranks of owners - I've seen quite a few at the various car shows I attend. As for my wife, she really has no interest in cars at all so I don't expect her to ever become a Vettaholic.

When I was doing some repairs that were going overnight, I brought the back wheels down the cellar for safe keeping. My wife looked at those two steamroller sized tires and said," Wow! That really is a man's car!".

Hi Manny -
The forum(s) are more of a guy thing in general, but there are many women who own and drive a Corvette.
My wife has her own 99 coupe. She could have had just about anything she wanted, and she chose a C5 Corvette.
Here is a picture of her car -
best regards -

There's a lady who drives a TR C5 to work a lot. I haven't seen her lately but when it's good weather she drives it all the time.
They look good together
My wife's not what I call a car person but she does share in my vette quite a lot. But then again we do most things together. But she never drove my C4 and I doubt she will ever drive the C5, even though I always try to get her to. She can drive about anything to include our tractor.
