When your install was finished how much space was there between the seat and the trans tunnel? I'm thinking that if we can shift the seats inward towards the trans tunnel 3/4 of an inch or so that it will help decrease the amount of cutting and trimming on the outer side that's required to fit the seats and possibly even be able to leave the outside adjusting **** and seat belt plastic alone

I would love to find the time to come up with a better yet strong set of brackets that do not require the factory seat bracket feet. This way I can actually just copy them and create a set.

I think that photo is the test fit photo w things untouched, and if not then it is the one after installation w as much shortening done as possible. Following into the later photos in the first post, you will see that I had cut off the recliner wheel for the outside altogether and welded it to the inner metal wheel to not fall out.

Also, the inside where the recliner wheel is on the final photos, it has been reduced already. The outside just had no space so it had to go inside, and while the wheel is shortened, there is still a few mm from touching the tunnel because the side and lap bolsters are already pressed against the transmission tunnel.

In summary, the outside ****'s plastic piece cant be left, and the **** also doesnt have much space unless the car's trim piece was cut.

Frank.

The driver side I didn't use brackets I bolted the provided sliders to the floor and put a steel brace on the under side of the car... perfect height... passenger side I used factory riser as the tunnel has a 4 inch piece coming off it... makes since when you see it

im about to tackle the install this tomorrow if i get the time. im curious if anyone else has done the seats and has some more info. if i read a post correctly its possible to attach the sliders that came with the new seats to the factory bolts in the floor. is this correct. if anyone has any additional input it would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Negative, the sliders that come w the seats dont match up to the bolts on the floor. Theyre off by a little for both sliders. The best way to match up is w a new piece of flat metal bolted to the sliders, and then to the floor.. similar to another member's install.

Guys,

I have this car now and these exact seats and belts are for sale. I am simply too big for them.

All the cutting and measuring and everything will be done for you and you will save some money as I just want to trade straight across.

Want to trade for some C6Z or C5Z stock seats in excellent condition. these are about 2 months old.
I am located in OKC.
Thanks!

Do you have a Z06?? I have family that travels to Ohio regularly and we could work out a trade on the seats if you want?
