And you guys told me I couldn't drive the Vette in the snow.
She didn't have a spot on her when I left work. Some of the pictures don't do this crap justice. 1hr 45 minutes to go 48 miles and it was horrendous . . . heavy rain, straight sleet piling up in piles, snow to the tune of 2" hour.

When I was younger I owned/drove an 86' IROC Z in that crap up in Chicago. I could not imagine trying to navigate a C5 Corvette in that mess!
Good job!

Thats an average winter day here in Wisconsin
Only thing worse than snow on the roads here in Wisconsin is being a Bears fan in Wisconsin right now

Certainly glad we don't get that stuff down here.....Nice job of driving on your part...... Check around the exhaust, understand that's where it starts melting first(the car I mean).....

You Sir, are braver than I think of it as God's version of a car cover.
...who cares about value plummeting if you never plan on selling her anyways
yours should clean up just fine

These are really great tires Gunny!
Every year I take them through high passes in Montana and Colorado, usually just before the snow depth hits the chains required depth, and handling is terrific.
Good grip and quiet at high speed---I love them on my DD!

OP: I was 50/50 on the Vredestein Ultra Sessanta's or the Continental Extreme Contact DWS's. I went with the Vredestein's because they were about $50 cheaper and still had stellar reviews.

I have DWS tires on my summer wheels on my dd C5 and blizzak LM60s on my winter wheels. My car performed GREAT in the snow and I have had no issues driving it in 3 inches of snow. DWS tires are great!

I'm ready to replace my C5 original RF's...and looked at DWS but was spooked by Tire Rack's refusal to list them as Corvette replacements due to the difference in speed ratings between the front and rear sizes. I suspect they took that stance due to possible litigation. Obviously they work on a C5...any tire experts around to advise on mixing speed ratings??

I replaced the tires on my wife's Acura with Continental Extreme DWS... just passed 5K miles.... terrific tires. Quiet, grippy, great in Nebraska snow.
