Default Thought you guys would enjoy this....

I like how he specifically on the ad states: "A removable hard top Z06. It is not a clone, it is a true 2002 Corvette Z06 that has been customized with a removable hardtop."

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...standard=false
I ran across that one on my hunt for a Z.

The vin # is that of a frc. The sixth digit is for the body style. It is a 1, and that's a frc, which in 2002 was only a zo6. Strange! maybe it was damaged and rebuilt as a coupe?

Yes, that's correct. Car has a VIN number belonging to a Z06

During my search, I found a targa conversion Z06, and a convertible conversion Z06. Both documented. They were the real thing, from reputable shops. The targa was a Caravaggio, can't remember the conv., though, but it was no fake. Both cars have been displayed on this site

I dunno... If you could pin down the shop (if it was a shop) that did the conversion and make sure it was legit, that's a pretty sweet package. Fully decked out Apsis interior too if the steering wheel is any indication. Course you gotta REALLY like blue, but if that's your thing then that's pretty friggin cool.

I'm very curious about this car's lineage, but it almost has to be a wrecked rebuild. Has alot of expensive mods, and low miles, which could be BS. Anyway, it's a gamble, but interesting.

I have seen both a Targa and a Vert conversion done. The targa retained the FRC rear glass and had the Coupe trim front section grafted to the old FRC aft trim.

I'd bet somebody hacked up a Z just like they do to make them verts.

It would be very interesting to look at the details in person of this car.

It's not my thing either, but the transition looks to be very skillfully performed.
