Make sure your parking brake is disengaged obviously and loosen the rotor by smacking the hat with a hammer, repeat as necessary!. You have to pull the rotor straight off, if it gets cocked a tiny bit it'll catch the shoe and hang up...

Here's a little info on the parking brake system;

Do you know if these require any more or less room/space/clearance than the C6Z06 brakes?

I don't know 100% but I'm very confident that the clearences would be very similar!! We have all the wheel templates so you can verify it first.

Default Cleaning Your Hubs

Here's a tip for you not only for installing BBKs but for a rotor swap as well. We had these rotors made to pretty tight tolerances so I had to get the crud off the Hubs... I used a round wirebrush attached to a drill to clean them up pretty well first and also the bracket mounting ears;

Here's something I noticed, these chunks of rotor still attached to the Hub is bad news!

If there is a build up of this stuff on one side it'll certainly give you a vibration! Scrape this stuff off!! I used a razor blade and then wirebrushed the Hubs again!

It'll be on your mounting ears also, here's a great example... Look how one chunk is only on one area, this would have thrown my Caliper mounting off and possibly caused a runout issue;

Ready for new rotors now, except for that top caliper mounting ear!

Default Shimming the Calipers

After you get everything installed measure the distance between the inner caliper faces and the rotor to determine how neutral your caliper is sitting. Mine were like this;

One of the smaller round shims (See below) between each caliper bolt and the mounting bracket made it damn near pefect.

Not after a session on the track you can't! It amazes me that the paint stays on there, I touched mine up with that duplicolor caliper paint and I burnt that right off!

Looks good. After cleaning, I always brush anti seize on the backing plate before I mount the rotors, old or new. They're so much easier to remove later.

Yep I do that on all my cars too. I had to cut the rotors off our Expedition once with a torch and ever since then I coat the hubs with anti-seize, even put a little on the stud threads too...

Good call!

Tim
