They totaled my baby :cry
Well that accident last week caused over 18k in damage and they are gonna total the car out. Book value they say is $25,000 based on a car with over 100k miles. Mine has 12,789 on it so they estimate the payoff to be between 28 and 30k. I think I would be ok with anything over 30k but definitely do not want to settle for something in the 20s at all. The adjuster did note the condition of the car was better than new in all areas he inspected. This just really sucks. This car was my first brand new car and im the original owner of it. It is a sad sad day.

Glad you weren't hurt! If they give you that much money, take it and run!

Sorry to see this!
If they offer you over 20k for a 2002 that would be pretty interesting - would like to know their final offer!
I have an extra $10,000 over book policy extended coverage on my 2001 (which is the max allowed by Farmers), but I pay extra for that. I am guessing with my policy the most they would offer me in a TOTAL event would be about $25k or so - and mine has over $10,000 in upgrades and a new engine on top of that (replaced under extended warranty 4k miles ago).
Good Luck!

Wow glad you were not hurt.
Man most of the damage looks cosmetic, since you spent 75K on it i would tell the ins. that i want to keep the car and take a lower pay out and fix it.
Even if it took you a while to do that. it would still be worth it. you would still have your vette.
It doesn;t look like it has frame damage and there are alot of C5's in wrecking yards. i'm sure you could put it back together but hey i'm not you, i just saying thats what i would do.

awful, but turn lemons into lemonade...buy it back for cheap and part it out...you will come out way ahead...you could even hire a "manager" to do the part out for you for a 10-20% commission.

That would buy another nice low mileage Z.
