Can U Install Z06 Roof Panel on Convertible?
Title basically says it all. Can you pull the convertible deck lid and soft top and install the full piece Z06 hard top roof panel?

Yes, I recently bought some tires from a guy in Mississippi and when I got to his house he had a Convertible that he switched to a Zo6 style hard top, then had it converted to a targa top also.

Yup, several people here have done it. I think the really trick one belongs to GB Vette.

Thee was a hardtop for convertables from "Smoothline" that looked like a ZO6 roof sort of.

My first question would be "why?", but then I would wonder why you don't just buy an FRC. You get all the NON Z performance, but without a removable top.

Now that everyone has rendered an opinion
You can do it but it's a bit of work. You will need to graft the front latch area - probably a couple of inches - from a targa top. Not sure about the hinges in the back but that's a much easier part since it's not seen. It will replace the targa lid fine. I thought about it but too much work and then you have to store the top when it's off. You can leave the convertible top in place in the stowed position.

No question about it… the Fixed-Roof Coupe / Hardtop has cleavage. That “valley” is almost not noticeable until you view the hardtop either straight on or from the rear.
The Fixed-Roof Coupe’s top is SEXY!

It can be difficult to spot. You have to be viewing the top from the right position.
It’s still pretty cool to design that into the top.

To the OP... I'm interested in your idea although I'm not quite understanding what you are wanting to do. Any pics of your idea?
I do remember someone doing this though.
I'm sure this is a forum member... liked the idea so I saved the picture.
