I never floor it,because ,as stated by Choreo in a thread earlier in the week:
" performance was a secondary consideration in the C5, most of the money was put into the seat leather and sound system. "
I thought about flooring it once, but then I came to my senses....

I think both my cars are broken...
In my convertible I can floor it in 2 3 4 5 6 and it doesn't spin the tires...
In my Z I can floor it in 3 4 5 6 and it doesn't spin the tires...
The point I like about a six speed is I control acceleration more through gear selection than throttle. I rarely go more than 20% throttle when commuting.
I will tell you that GM programs the pedals to start at like 50% throttle from a dead stop to "simulate" power. You won't notice much difference in pedal position versus acceleration past the point where the car downshifts. I personally prefer a more progressive throttle application but fly by wire requires reprogramming to change it.
I guarantee you pedal response would feel totally and completely different on a C5R than on a street car. A race driver needs as much control as possible.
I never liked the A4 and never will. To each their own.

Yours too? I think there is a gang of tread theives going around shaving tires down. It seems like every time a take my car somewhere, I come back with a little less tread than I had when I left.

update
Went for a 50 mile rural drive today... I floored it about 6 times: a couple take-off, the rest at various speeds..
Pleased to report that nothing is broken! In fact, I think I heard my Vette saying Thank-you!
