Melting Slicks
ABOVE: I finally gave in and purchased my C5 this past August after still owning only C-2's and C-3's during my lifetime. Never liked the C-4's but heard so many good things about the C-5's and loved it's looks that I always had the thought of getting one in the back of my mind although I have too many toys to begin with. I had my choice to go after a C5 or C6. My choice was a low mileage C5. My reasoning behind that is that I felt the C6 lost some of its looks. Don't get me wrong it is still a good looking car but looking at the C5 & C6 side by side length wise I could not understand why GM chopped the back off of the C6. I still can't get use to that look. The headlights exposed didn't bother me that much as they do look good on the C6 but I felt GM stole the idea of doing this to the Corvette from the Dodge Viper. Heck that look is even on my wifes 2000 Dodge Intrepid. That and the fact that Corvette's always had hideaway headlights going all the way back to 1963. I feel GM shouldn"t of messed with that idea. It just doesn't seem right. For this reasoning I felt that the C5 was a better looking car and that is what I purchased. Now I have 3 Corvettes since August and I am having a hard time choosing which one to drive at times and the Winter is almost here in the North East. Won't get to drive any of them soon.

Seriously. To each their own. I personally love the looks of the C6, especially the Z06. It looks more aggressive and mean, and like Mr.Bill said, especially after you lower 'em! And after driving one, i'm sold. Even though i know the C6 isn't that much of a change from the C5, it just felt more refined and solid. Don't get me wrong, i love my C5, but i'll be joining the OP as soon as it's in my budget to do so!
