OK,,enthusiastic DRIVER!! I'm in that class as well!! I've taken ti to Test and Tune night at the strip,,just because I wanted to know what it would really do!! Have the time slips and do it safe an legal!! Other than that,,I drive it all the time,,keeping it clean as reasonably possible. While I do some club outings/display things once in a while,,the car show thing is not for me either,,too much cleaning waxing and sitting around!! I do like to go to them once in a while to do a look see,,but don't like sitting around all day at one!! I buy'em to drive'em!! Sounds like you do too!!

Also they make a road trip a pleasure to take. Great ride at speed, comfort in the cabin, and great back ground sound from the exhaust.

Where do us guys that dont do either get classified? I love my Z06. I love modding it to get all the hp I can afford. I like driving it as close to its potential as the mountain back roads will allow. In addition, I like keeping it clean, but dont really like showing.
BUT, all that said, I dont drag race it, I dont take it to auto crosses, but Im not afraid of a few rock chips and using the car...
Anyone else feel like theyre in that gray area? What are we???

You are, like most of us, a CAR GUY. We come in all brands - M3's, Ford trucks, Mustangs, AC Cobras, Mazda Miata's, etc. Our choice (because we have a choice) is the Vette.
Pitty the poor soul who didn't get to choose, or worse - the one who chose wrong.

I do wish there was a place I could go pay a fee (cheap) and have a track to myself for a half hour or so. I would love to know what it feels like to run hard without fear of tickets, and other cars. I don't want to go through the hassles involved in getting certified (or whatever) and I am not near a track that I am aware of. I think road racing would be a blast. I think street racing could be eliminated if this was an option. Show up, pay, drive, go home. Get it out of your system y'know?

Drivers are chance takers, push the envelope, love how their ride looks, how their ride pulls, how their ride corners, yea, we are breed all our own. I would not change a thing!
Give it a few years, they are about to build a 5 mile track and drag strip acoss the Interstate from the National Corvette Museum. That will be a show changer. Talk about cutting it loose !!!!
