Would you say a corvette is a muscle car or an exotic
I was talking to a friend of mine bout this, and I feel that vettes are closer to exotics than muscle cars or maybe a blend of both. Because when I think of a muscle car I think of stangs, gto's ,and camaro's ect. Nice looking cars, but lacking the sexy lines of a vette. Example, the first thing a friend of mine (car guy) thought when I pulled up in my red c5 was that your car looks like a Ferrari and has really exotic lines to it.
What do yal think???

It's not an exotic because Vettes are a dime a dozen. It's a sports car.

It's a sports car - that's all the description it needs.

The Z06 is definitely a pure sports car, while the base model coupe or convertible is more of a sports car/grand tourer. A muscle car, in the traditional sense, is a midsized passenger car with a more powerful than average engine. A corvette does not fit that definition. All muscle cars of the 60s and early 70s had seating for at least four. And lets be honest with ourselves, nothing Chevy makes has ever, or will ever, be exotic.
Playing the name game isnt really necessary though, its a corvette. Thats all that really needs to be said.

a 1970 454 4 speed corvette was a muscle car.
my Z06 is a muscular sports car.

Think about it!
Go in a straight line and not much will ever touch it. From a WOW factor it can hold it's own until the real high exotics are introduced and then comes in a close second. On the track will hold its own and has for years.
Introduce value and none compare. Then make it a C5 - WHAT CAN I SAY! Smartest people in the world own C5 Vetts.

Guess it depends on how you personally define "exotic".
It is probably not "technically" an exotic due to price and availability. I had been driving Corvettes almost exclusively up until 1990. Prior to the C5 I would never have thought of the word "exotic" to describe them. Even the C6, I would not personally describe the looks as "exotic". By 1990, I was pretty bored with the C4s and got completely away from Corvettes in every sense. Then one day in 2000 I saw my first C5 turn the corner in my neighborhood (yes they had been out for 3 years and this was the first one I had seen!). My first thought was, it was some kind of limited edition "exotic" so I raced for several blocks to catch up to it. I finally got close enough to read the back bumper and when it said "CORVETTE", I was in shock! I was sure it was some kind of Italian sports car. So "I" would say that the C5 (in my mind) is so far the only "exotic" Corvette design to ever hit the streets. It is just one of those rare designs that you would expect to see only a few hundred or thousand ever released for Italy, but GM mass produced it.
As far as a "Muscle Car", I have never seen any Corvette as a "Muscle Car" even when I was driving 550 HP 454's. To me a Muscle Car has a back seat, 2 seated cars are Sports Cars. Just my opinion.
