Default What tires you guys running on your C5Z?

Tried the search function but it wasn't real effective. So what tires are you guys liking on the CS Zs?

Tirerack lists only the OEM tires and the Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sports which are quite a bit cheaper ($800 for 4 versus $1,400 for the OEMs) with a slightly better rating.

Thanks in advance....

Oh and someone remind me about the tire sensors. If I buy sensors, the computer will pick them up, correct?

I'm running Michelin PS2 tires and believe they are the best street tire you can buy. Quieter, more grip in dry and better in the wet. They even ride nicer. Not the cheapest option, but worth it.

Also, we don't have tire pressure sensors in the Z06. The Z06 will not recognize them if you add them to your wheels. And I'm pretty sure there is no way to turn this option on through the computer on a C5Z.

I just went through the same search you are going through; I decided on the Continental Extreme Contact DW's. I've had them on the car for a little over 1 month and, so far, I am very happy with them. If you check with others on the site, they come highly recommended.

There are alot of adequate tires on the market for everyday driving and everyone has a preference, some may be better than others. We all get to the choice based on bank account balance, type of driving, looks and personal preference. Do your research and no doubt you will be satisfied with your choice, if not try another brand when you purchase your next set. No matter what, enjoy your Z and drive safely!

I'll add them to the list.

Yeah, I just wanted to poll all the Z owners, select around 5 to compare, and do some research. The PS2s seem to be the popular choice but I was curious to see how some of the others that are a bit cheaper stacked up.

The michelin PS2's were great when i had them, however their tread llife was horrible IMO. I have Ealge F1 GSD3's on the rear of mine and Falken 452's up front. I had just recently discovered that Goodyear discontinued my eagles...soo looks like im gonna go with Nittos NT05's next go round.

I love my Continental ExtremeContact DW tires.

FYI, most of the available tires do not show up on Tire Rack's website when you search by car, or even when searching for both tire sizes at the same time. Instead, search for each size separately, using separate tabs if necessary. That'll give you all the available tires.

The OEM Eagle F1 Supercars are excellent if you can afford and drive in warm weather.

Kuhmo Ecsta XS's

front: 255/40zr 17's

Rear: 315/30zr 18's

Have held up great so far. Two full days up at Pocono and a autocross and now dragstrip. Plus just driving around on them. Great handling once they get heated up. plenty of grip. I think my next tires will be the Toyo R888's just to try them out.

What do you do, the type of driving? HPDEs? AutoX? Street? Mellow-Street? Do you usually get under 10K miles (if you're lucky) on tires or do you have tires for several years and change them with over 20K miles...30K miles? Are you looking for dry performance, wet/dry performance, long-wear?

Personally, I've R888s mounted...275/17 and 315/18.

I've been running Toyo TR-1's ( proper size f/r for Z06) from 18K miles to present 32.5K miles.

Good performance in dry and rain. On a long trip recently I did notice a lot of road noise - which is attributable for sure to the Z06, but also I think the tires.

Maybe next set will be Michelins?

I thought I've read on other posts that the dealer can reprogram a Z06 to read the tire sensors. I am certain I have read where others have done this.

Here- I knew I read it:
