c5 Z06 but I am biased. I think you just explained why you should get the z06 instead due to your ability to work on it.

ya well i went from the lt1 cars to the ls1 cars with no trouble lol

i just dont wanna have 25k wrapped into a 8-9 year old car
dont get me wrong c5zo6 is and will always be a bad *** car!!!! just think the c6 has the edge on the "exotic" side of the looks
know what i mean

Flame suite on!! An LS motor is an LS motor for all practical purposes!!Might as well get the newest lowest mile car that you can afford,,which would be a C6!! I AM partial to the C5Z as I drive an FRC,,and like the body style!! But looked the other night out of curiosity in the C6 for sale section,,,and you can probably get an 07 maybe an 08 around your price range. Depends on what body style YOU favor!! Going to be quite similar to work on!!

I love the C5...I would go with the Z. The forum is the first place I look to shop. Many educated forum members always giving their input on sales prices etc which makes the forum a very competative marketplace. I bought my C4 and C5 on the forum.

well i have a banker that has been forming my credit to the exact number he wants.....at that time they will cut me a check for no less than 25000
well in march i hope there are as many cars avaliable as there are now to choose from....just need to decide on the
c5 zo6
or the c6

i am liking the nav, hud, and heated seats (to keep the wife happy) lol

but not liking the coupe, instead of the hard top of the c5 zo6

With a budget of 25k, I would buy a c5 Z. You can get one with some pretty nice mods for that, and no offence to reg c6 guys, but they look failry lame in comparison to a C6 Z IMHO!!
Plus, I still think the c5 Z/FRC is a great body line and is hard to beat in the looks dept.!!

You don't mean you're in credit counseling by chance?

Sounds like the C6 is what you want.

I was in this same boat about a month ago and I drove C6s but Z were so har to come by here I couldnt get a test drive but I know how I loved the coupe I had In the end I decided with my 02 Z and I dont regret it at all its an amazing car it has so to offer its completely different than my coupe was you always read about people saying that but until you drive one you never really understand Ill agree with you the C6 looks great but to me they are really cramped inside compaired to the C5 the only way I was going to buy a C5 was with an LS3 they are really strong engines but they are still going for good money.. If you look long enough you can find a low mileage Z for a good deal just my .02

thanks for input too man

Just remember,,that you have to have some mods to get to where you are starting with a C6,,430-436,,depending on exhaust!! Just keeping the waters muddied!! Jan and Feb are the best time to look!! By March,,a few nice days and spring fever starts setting in and prices start going up as foliage gets greener!! Must admit,,NOTHING in the C6 line can match the looks of the FRC roof line!!!

I Vote C5 Z... I prefer a C5 over any C6 that isnt widebody(grandsport,z06 and zr1 make for a different story) The C6 just doesnt look as good as the C5 imo. You can always mod a C5 to get the performance where you want.

Just remember you cant take the top off the Z something to think about
