best sticky tires for street??
i have a daily driven 2004 Z06 putting down 460hp.. im looking for a tire that wont break loose as easy as the michelins pilots i have now.. im mini tubbed with a 335-30-18 on the rear and with these tires i ALWAYS feel like im on ice... i dont drag race the car but i go get on it around town and it spins out really easy.. just looking for a sticky tire thats still a street tire.. i sometimes do get stuck in the rain in the car also so something that will be decent in rain also maybe...
any suggestions??

I don't think you can do much better than the Goodyear F1s, Michelin PS2s, or the Hankook V12s for street use. Stickier rubber is almost always a compromise when it comes to wet weather.

People are having great resluts with the Toyo R888. The Nitto 555RII are also another good option as well. If you were looking for a tire that hooks, and your car would never see rain, then MT's all the way.

I had the Nitto 555RII's in a 305 on my Z06 and they stuck pretty well for a street tire. You could definitely still break them loose but they sure stuck a lot better then the Invo's I have now. The Nitto's were absolutely awful in the wet, hence why I got rid of them quick since my Z is a DD.

Since I just got my PS2 ZPs on yesterday I can't say how they handle in the rain. But they seem to have pretty good grip on dry pavement. Michelin and people reports seem to indicate they are exceptional on wet roads. I'll know soon enough, this is FL, it rains a lot here.

i have general exlcaims on front and rear right now 275 front and 295 rear...they are a great cheaper tire and they stick damn good on dry pavement. if its wet they are just ok. i feel safe with them but they do break traction pretty easy.

you may want to look into the bfg geforce kdw2 tires. good bang for the buck with these. i have 275/40/18 front 295/35/18 rear on speedline z06 wheels.

The best sticky tires I ever used were Atlas Bucron's.. also known as Butalayres. The only probem is you have to go to an Esso Staion to get them and you have to go back to the 60's.

You should be asking this question in the C5 Forced Induction/Nitrous section, where 460hp in on the low side and most in there are looking for tires to hold from 600hp to 900hp, for street and dry performance I would tell you to go with the Nitto NT05R, a little better tire for every day and wet roads would be the Nitto NT05. With your size rim and tire they should work very well for you. Another great tire to consider is the Toyo Proxes R888. You can't go wrong with any of the tires above at your power level. Good Luck with your choice.

i have nitto invos, and couldn't be happier with them. I had pilots before and seemed to spin all the time with them. I haven't driven in the rain with he invos yet.

Something else to think about is your suspension. Zo6s have stiffer springs this make them handle better, but not so good for stop light to stop light sprints. I have heard guys with Zo6s putting base vette spring on the rear. This allows the rear to transfer weight better and hook up.

What sizes?
Are they quieter than the pilots?
. . . can ya tell I'm considering them?

NTO5R great for the street have them on right now suck on the track but great street tire. Stick as gum on a hot desert highway.

Ahh, I remember them well. You drove to the strip with your U.S. Royal's on, then when you got there, you took the Bucron's out of the trunk and put them on for racing. The closest things to real "slicks" at the time for stockers.
