Not really a good place to put drinks I wouldnt think. Check out the travel buddy cup holders on our site, that may suit your needs better

I have a double (for two) travel buddy cup holder in my c5 and it doesn't bother the passenger - it fits closed to the tunnel than you think - When there's a passenger there, you might notice there's "dead space" at the tunnel next to them.
